Well, you don't convert feet into square feet.
Feet is how long something is.
Square feet is the amount of area when you multiply the length times the width, for example of a room. A room 10 feet long times 10 feet wide equals 100 square feet.

multiply one side by another... that is as long as it is not linear feet (straight line)
so a square with 3 ft sides is 9 square feet
a rectangle with a 3 ft side and a 5 ft side is 15 square feet

You can't. Feet is a measure of length. 1 dimension. Square feet is a measure of area. 2 dimensions.
What you should have asked is, how do I compute square feet?

if you were to draw a square that was
12" x 12" that is a square foot. so if your room is 10 ft long and 10 feet wide your room is 100 sq. ft

Take the width dimension in feet and multiply it by the lenght dimension in feet.
