I think using a warm yet light color would be best. Try a buttercream color to lighten the tone of the room so the couches are stand out. White curtains will play well, and some cream pillows will tie it in. If you want a more modern effect introduce black with fixtures and pillows and rug. I think using any stronger color is going to distract from the couches and make the room seem busy.

Try a cream colour with a slight green cast or hue. Green is complimentary on the colour wheel to red. Your red couches should be the thing you focus on in the room so something that doesn't fight with the red would be good. I've found strong colours in your furniture calls for a neutral background, white would be too stark a contrast.

Dark Greens, soft browns, soft yellows, also work for throw pillows. Eggshell would work very well. You also could paint one wall red and use light brown or beige on the rest of the walls. It will make your room pop. I love red couches. I am looking to buy one right now. If you prefer to use the blue family, then you could go that route, but not my favorite. Also, use a lot of gold touches like in your lamps, paintings, ornamental hangings, etc. Gold pillows with red touch in them are lovely. You are on a roll with the red couch. Best wishes.

Anything in the tan family is nice. I have a red sectional and it looks great with an earth tone color. I've had a pastel yellow walls at first and that looked good, too but I'd go with tan, dark beige...something like that.

Depends on your style & the style of the sofas.

Modern? bright white, bold black and yellow accents
Comfortable/traditional? beige-tan
Eclectic/ethnic? eggplant
I think the apple green idea could work well too.

A camel color would like nice (like tan), or if you want something bold I think lime green would be awesome. However your furnishings would definitely have to be modern to pull that off.
