I received the American flag that was draped over my grandfather's casket. I had never gotten around to buying a case for it, just displayed it out in the open on top of my bookshelf, properly folded and all, right underneath my living-room window.

Last week, there was a heavy rainstorm that caused the seal around my living-room window to spring a leak, and water came in, getting the flag dirty and soaking wet.

On one hand, I believe the formal flag codes require me to destroy the flag once it gets dirty and/or wet, but ... this is my grandfather's flag, which is a big deal in my family. If I can, I'd like to clean it rather than replace it.

Any suggestions?

Is there anything aside from Mr. Clean Magic eraser that can help with this? I have never used the magic eraser, does it actually work? Is there a less toxic way of getting the scuffs off. . .I know the magic erasers contain formaldehyde which does not appeal to me so much.

Thanks :)

I've tried folding, but some are so small that they just come unfolded and it makes my drawer a big pile of mess...it drives me crazy...i know this is kind of an odd question, but I thought that someone might have some ingenius idea of storage and organization? Please share with me...

I haven't cleaned in a while and my room smells...well...funky. I don't want to just spray something so what should I do? I have the time and energy to move all my furniture, I already picked up all the dirty clothes and stuff. I have carpet that's stained(orange carpet with some old pet stains and a few spills), lots of dust, and windows that don't open. I'm no stranger to cleaning but this is sort of daunting. How do I clean metal furniture? How do I clean and make the woodwork/wooden furniture shine? What's the best way to clean a rust/hard water stained toilet? How should I get ashes out of my keyboard so it doesn't stick? How do I get thick dust off books? What should I use to get random gunk off a chair? It's that time of year and I'd really like to get this done and have a room I can be proud of.

We're renting this house, and from what I know of its history it's been a few years since anyone bothered to clean the glass on the shower door.

I've tried the following products:

Lysol Soap Scum Remover
CLR
LimeAway
Vinegar and water
Comet Cleanser
Toothpaste
A razor blade

Nothing is working!!!! If I owned the home I'd just go buy another glass door lol ... it's a lovely shower and a beautiful home, but I really don't want to invest any money into it, know what I mean?

Any suggestions would be great (well, other than to kick out the door and call the property owner lol), thanks!

I just cleaned out the mold from the floor that has piled up from the drain overflowing, but is there a way to get the drain open and clean it, or do I just need something like Drano?

Like the back part where you pour in the water, and the other part where the filter and coffee goes. The water part is starting to get a little mildew in it, are there any good home supplies I could possibly use, or if you don't know of any home supplies..tell me what to buy..thank you, and I hope you all understand what I am talking about.
