I just cleaned out the mold from the floor that has piled up from the drain overflowing, but is there a way to get the drain open and clean it, or do I just need something like Drano?

I would try a liquid drain cleaner first, but if that doesn't work, try a snake.

pour a cup full of white vinegar down the drain let it sit for 1/2 hour. pour 1/2 box baking soda down drain and follow it with a sauce pan full of boiling water. That should clear the drain. as a preventative put two polident tablets down the drain and follow with a quick flush of hot water- you should here it fizz and then flush with warm water 1/2 hour later. You can always do the drastic thing and place a bucket under the drain and remove the cap at the curve and pull out whatever crap is in there. Wear gloves and a mask it could get nasty and splash.

Befor you try any drain openers, try this. Fill as much of drain as possible with baking soda. Then add white vinegar. It'll foam like crazy. Let it sit about and hour, flush with hot water. May need to do twice, then once month or so thereafter. It eats up hair, softener build up and all kind of pipe goo. This is all I use in my pipes and they are draining freely. Hope this works for you too!
