Like the back part where you pour in the water, and the other part where the filter and coffee goes. The water part is starting to get a little mildew in it, are there any good home supplies I could possibly use, or if you don't know of any home supplies..tell me what to buy..thank you, and I hope you all understand what I am talking about.

White vinegar. Run through 3-4 times at full strength. Then run just water through 3-4 times. Crack open a window though, hot vinegar smells a bit nasty. But this is the best way to clean and sanitize a coffee maker and not affect the taste of coffee brewed after.

Coffee Maker Cleaning
Drip type coffee makers should be made a party of your regular kitchen cleaning routine (at least once a month). Dried coffee oils can ruin the taste of even the best blend. In addition, if you have what's considered "hard water", minerals can build up inside your coffee maker. An alternative to commercial coffee cleaners is to run a solution of half white vinegar and half water through the coffee maker to dissolve scale. The heated solution may have to be run through the unit one or more times if buildup is heavy. Thoroughly rinse all parts of the unit. Run plain cold water through a cycle to remove all traces. If you still have your owner's manual, check it as well for instructions specific to your model. The glass pot, filter container and other removeable components can be cleaned when you're washing the dishes.

If there is anything in the water reservoir other than water condensation, wipe it out with a paper towel.

Fill the carafe with half water, half white vinegar. Run that through your coffee maker, but only halfway (i.e., if it's a 10-cup coffee maker, run through only 5 cups of the water/vinegar mixture.) When half of the water/vinegar mixture has run through, turn the coffee maker off. You do this with a paper filter in the basket.

After the water/vinegar in the carafe has cooled, pour it back into the water reservoir, and turn the coffee maker on. Let the full carafe of water/vinegar run through the system completely. Once all the water/vinegar has run through the system (and the carafe is full), turn it off . Pour out the used water/vinegar combination, and let the coffee maker cool.

Rinse the pot and the basket and paper filter, and fill the carafe with water (no vinegar.) Run this through the coffee maker (with the rinsed filter in the basket), to remove all the vinegar residue.

When it's finished, dump the water and the filter, and you should be ready to go.

Rinse out with warm water first, making sure you don't get water onto the power cord area. Then Brew a pot of white vinegar. Without coffee grinds, of course!! Then "brew" another pot of just plain water to get rid of the vinegar. This will get rid of any buildup or gross stuff on the inside as well.

A great way to get rid of buildup on your pot is to use ice and salt. Put some ice in the coffee pot, then pour a little salt into it. Swish around until water build up and stains are gone! Rinse.

If there is mildew buildup in areas that will not be touched by the vinegar, you may want to take an OLD toothbrush to it then rinse out, then follow with the vinegar.

Vinegar, full strength. Just brew a pot of vinegar, then do at least 3 brews of plain water. We have hard water and it always clears ours up.
