Cleaning & Laundry - April 2007

I have one of those memory foam pillows that can't be washed with water (and is really expensive to replace). I made the mistake of taking it when I was staying with someone who smoked, and now it reeks of cigarette smoke. Any ideas of how to get rid of it (I'm afraid that spraying it with Febreez may ruin it, since I'm pretty sure I'm not even supposed to get it wet).

It is really messy and i hate it every time I look at it but school (I go to college and live in a dorm) ends in like 3 weeks and then all my clothes that are in my closet are just going to be stuffed into my car to drive back home. Also these last three weeks are my busiest with studying. I'm really unmotovated to do it but what do you think should i clean it or not?

I split some baby oil on my computer chair seat. And now there's a large stain from it. Is their any way I can remove this? I can't put the seat in the washer...because well...obviously it's a seat. And I can't figure out how I can remove the stain!
Help please!

hey every body!!! well, i just wanted to take a second to tell y''all about the "Tide-To-Go" pen. YES!!! It works really, really well and I ABSOULTELY love it and now I wouldn't go anywhere without it!!! It is great for removing little and big stains.....but it really doesn't work on the set in stains.....but hey it says that on the pen itself. But all and all It's well worth the maybe $2 you pay for it 10 times over. Also if you have smaller childern, it's a god send!!!!! I hope this helps y'all out a little and if you like me review give ma a star..
Good luck and I hope you enjoyed!!! (oh, I'm sorry this isn't a question, but I thought thsi might help somebody!)
~Katie!
p.s.
oh, another "down side" if you take out a really dark stain....sometimes it will get stuck on the end of the pen and transfer it to a lighter fabric.....

Some of the buttons on my phone stick...I think one of my little darlings must have spilled something on it. I tried using q-tips and rubbing alcohol...seemed to loosen them up at first but not now. Any suggestions on this? Thanks in advance!

My friends and I are cleaning up an old cemetery which has been terribly neglected. What's the best thing to clean the head stones and grave markers without damaging the granite or marble. Some of these markers had to be literally dug up...they were sunken and overgrown. Lots of them have unbelieveable mold all over them. We want to clean them up nice but don't want to damage the stone.

They used to have agitators that would go up and down rapidly. What were they called, and how come they don't make them anymore? I think General Motors used to make them.

How to make dry powder cleaner with baking soda?

I took a class, but I lost the Recipe. I think that it had a tad bit of water along with a couple of other things mixed with baking soda and oil for Fragrance.

when it was done, it came out dry as the baking soda had been alone. It had a beautiful Fragrance and could clean better then anything else I tried.

I don't want it to turn out wet, I tryed that, I like the dry form.

Thanks...

my tumble dryer starting blowing cold & not drying the clothes...so i called a guy out - cost me 40 quid including call out charge.

next time it happened..a nice guy came...and although i had to pay a 30 quid call out charge...he told me...that lots of tumble driers have a RED RE-SET button on the back...he said 'just press that and you wont have any more problems'...did you know that?? - if you didnt you do now...i am annoyed that the first engineer didnt tell me...he MUST have known!!...so if anyone else has had this problem...thats what you do - just press the red button on the back of the drier...!! an information question really!!

I want to make the house so clean when they come home. She's a total clean freak so I guess Im just trying to figure out what I should all get done before tomorrow. It's a two story house with the basement which is where my boyfriend sleeps all the time and she usually doesnt go down there. What should I make sure I do upstairs and even downstairs? What will make this house look like I took extra good care of it?
