I have a bathroom to clean that has been neglected for awhile, floors need scrubbing, shower and bath, all that sort of thing, I just want to get it really clean and from there I will maintain it. If you've had a job like this done (just a one-shot cleaning), or if you do housecleaning professionally, what would you expect to pay or what would you charge?

A skunk sprayed outside our house last night. The scent has made its way into our house and is actually stronger inside now than it is outside. Other than opening the windows (it's pretty cold here) what, if anything, will eliminate the odor in the house? (The smell is mostly just in the air - I don't smell it on linens, furniture, etc ... YET!)

I had a Pyrex glass baking sheet explode. Any suggestions on how to clean it out? Some pieces are stuck below the grate out of reach.

I have a top loading washing machine, is it necessary to use only top loading detergent or I can also use the front loading one. If so, why make two type of detergent soap when you can use one type for both? If not, what is the disadvantage of using front loading detergent on top loading machine and vice-versa?

I used gloss paint over the weekend and I have left a small stain on the carpet. Its hardly noticable but I wondered if there was a way to remove it?

I recently bought some cheap laundry detergent that actually made my clothes smell bad. However, the name brands like Tide seem too expensive for what it is. Any recommendations for a cheaper laundry detergent?

okay i need to get my clothes washed for work. not alot of clothes but ive got the whole small load water level thing down. ( i am like laundry challenged) so any simple instructions are great. i have.. liquid tide... liquid downey.. and clorox for colors. i have light jeans, dark jeans, grey shirts and a brown dark water shirt. id rather not go back and forth with these but to stick them in the washer and be done. what im saying is i dont really know what to do from here. they are my favorite jeans and stuff and i dont want them to be ruined. i can work a dryer but any washer tips are MUCH thanked.

Okay so I'm sick of getting raised eyebrows from Daddy when he finds my black lace thongs in the family wash. I suffered from a bout of insomnia and decided to teach myself how to do laundry. I managed to get my clothes sorted into DARKS, LIGHTS, WHITES, and "OTHER THINGIES", but I don't know where to go from there. Do you put like bras and stuff in according to color or do you start another load? What temperature are you supposed to use for what? Just take me through the steps, and pretend you're talking to a 5-year-old, I'm not a rocket scientist.

Hi Guys,
My boss told me to buy water repellent for a wool coat I would be wearing to Europe this month. When I applied the repellent (tectron dwr) durable, it turned my brand new black coat into a grey sticky mess. I am totally devastated. Has anyone had experience with this stuff, and will it be possible for the dry cleaners to remove the residue...I'm ready to sue the company in small claims....I would appreciate any help you can give me.
