okay i need to get my clothes washed for work. not alot of clothes but ive got the whole small load water level thing down. ( i am like laundry challenged) so any simple instructions are great. i have.. liquid tide... liquid downey.. and clorox for colors. i have light jeans, dark jeans, grey shirts and a brown dark water shirt. id rather not go back and forth with these but to stick them in the washer and be done. what im saying is i dont really know what to do from here. they are my favorite jeans and stuff and i dont want them to be ruined. i can work a dryer but any washer tips are MUCH thanked.

:]

any clothes you want to "save" you should hand wash. If you dont have time to hand wash but do not want them ruined then cold water and delicate cycle (slow churning in the washing machine) is good.

The separation of colors, lights and whites is always true.

Hot water will move colors from one fabric to another so dont do that!!
warm water is safe for lights

cold water is safe for darks.

I would not suggest washing your light jeans with anything except the light jeans.

I would suggest washing your dark jeans by themselves also.

once you get them washed then you can combine them in the dryer.

take a deep breath.
relax.
go slow
you can do it

I like my clothes to last a long time so I am very careful with how I wash them. Since you have the small load thing down, I would wash the dark jeans and the brown dark water shirt together with the liquid tide (You could also wash both pair of jeans together after the dark pair has been washed several times) the wash the light jeans and the grey shirt together. If the shirts are more delicate you could wash them individually. I have several outfits that are washed alone, and have enough red clothes that I do a "red" load wash. You spend a little more on the laundry, but I believe your clothes last a lot longer.

I never wash jeans with anything but jeans. That's really important in my opinion. They can make other things fade etc in the Laundry.

Then was the darks together.

If you have lights wash them together.

You should look at the tags on your clothes and see what they say about water temp and cycle. Be careful some companies what the tag says to use on your shirts...

BTW: I'm pretty much against dryers. They have ruined sooo many of my clothes. I'd be really careful. I don't dry any darks at all. I hang most of them up. I dry my jeans on low and the whites on medium. Good luck

Since most of the stuff you are going to wash are dark its ok to put them together, but personally I would do the jeans separately form the shirts. Put the wash on cold/cold so the colors wont bleed, water-amount large. When its getting ready to rinse put some downy in, and that's it. Tip-when you put your jeans in the dryer turn them inside out so they wont fade if you don't already do that.
