My leather sofa seats, the area where you sit, the cushioning has got soft and I was wondering if anyone knows a way to either replace the cushioning inside of them or to be able to tighten the cushion, so they are firm again? I'm in Portland, OR...any suggestions for companies in that area would be great. Thanks

I need to change out the phone line that runs from my phone jack to the interface box outside my house. Will I get shocked doing it? I know there is no breaker to shut the line down and I think I remember that it is a non-powered line so it should be fine but I thought that I better check. Also I have to replace my thermostat in the house. That I assume is powered but I have gotten varied responses as to whether or not I need to shut down a breaker to do it and avoid getting shocked or shorting something out. Any ideas?

I want to do a quick and easy paint job on the basement walls in my 1940s, brick bungalow, just so they won't look so dreary. Will probably be just white or off-white paint that I get cheap from my local Habitat Re-Store. But I want to make sure I'm getting a paint that will take to the walls well, as I've never painted concrete block before. What should I choose, or stay away from? The basement is nicely waterproofed, btw, so no concerns about moisture on the walls.

Once I threw the flaming napkin into the sink it went out. However, it left a brown mark in the sink that I can't seem to get out. What should I use to clean the sink and get rid of the "burn" marks. Ps- The sink is just regular, nothing special like marble or anything. The burn color is a light brown around the top of the sink.

I have recently come across some nice wood (juniper) to build a deck and make into interior walls in my pool hall. Problem is I do not have many tools! The wood has gone to a mill but is still pretty rough cut and not finished. I am conflicted on ripping the would to size or using a binder. The wood is 20 feet long and varies in width.

A friend lives out in the country and her home in being invaded by electrical cord eating mice - in spite help from her cat. My friend won't put out anything to kill the mice, so needs to protect the wires. What can be used? Will a metal pipe/tube ruin any of the electrical properties of the cords. If the cords are put in a box, how much is heat build up (ie fire) a concern?

We need ideas! She lives in the bottom of a valley with no TV, radio or cell phone reception. The satellite Internet is her only link with outside world!

Thanks!

My backyard is 730 inch wide and 300 inch deep. I have neighbors one small street away from my backyard. I need to plant some trees to create privacy. Since the yard is not that big, I am afraid to plant huge trees. For small to median size trees, do you have any suggestion? I know I will have one Maple, but what else?

Just the kits that u can get at craft stores. I was wonderingn if it is something that u could hang in your window after u make it or does it look like something that a first grader would bring home from school.(No offense kiddo's....I love all of you!) Just dont want to waste the money to buy the supplies, if I am not certain.

What can I do?

Can anyone tell me the approximate cost of having a contractor build a 3 car garge with an apartment above it? The apartment would be about 700 sq. ft. and have cheaper fixtures, carpet, cabinets, etc. Nothing special, vinyl siding, flat lot. I was thinking 25K-30K, or am I way off base?

I spent quite a bit of money cleaning my carpet with a private company owned by one guy. Now, the carpet is getting darker again where the high traffic areas were, and I am really dissapointed! I actually became kind of friendly with the carpet cleaning guy, helping him with creating flyers and other things to help him with his business. I want to tell him I am not happy with the carpet, but it seems difficult now that we are friends. What should I do???
