That's an interesting question. I think it may depend on just how different these design styles are and also how the rooms are set up in the home. If the rooms are completely seperate, with doors and walls to divide them, it's probably ok. It may be kind of cool to walk into another room and feel completely different becuase of your surroundings.
On the other hand, if these rooms are not fully seperate and you can see them both at the same time, sometimes that can clash and won't be as pleasing to the eye. There are ways you could probably make this idea work though.
People have their own preferences on how they want their homes to be decorated, so as long as the people who are living in the home are happy with it, I don't see it as a problem.

I don't know about every room being different - too many diff styles can make you home seem disconnected. You want some kind of connection from room to room like the same color palate thru out.
Or may just two diff styles one down stairs and another upstairs.

It all depends on the styles if they are a little bit different then it would be OK but if they have absolutely nothing alike then I would say no.
Hope this helps.

That is how I would do it. Like, I really want an oriental theme in my living room (a lot of reds) and I want my bathroom to be fun (like a fish theme or puppies). I want my kitchen to be yellow and blue and white (kinda country) and I want my bedroom to be very neutral with browns, khakis, and cream colors. Wow, I need to get started!

Theoretically.
It 'flows' better if adjoining rooms have something in common.
For instance, LR and DR could have same floor, or same wall color; kitchen could have same valence as DR, etc.
I would do the more 'offbeat' themes in bedrooms, or family room.
I think bathrooms, should match something in 'their' bedroom, or the closest main room.

I think that whatever you are comfortable in and you like. It is your home and you are the one who is living in it. Different styles are all about self expression anyway - and that's what you house should convey.

it's your home do what you like! Don't ever worry about what others think, you are the one who has to live there and if it makes you happy then do it! Besides you can always change it if you don't like it later! Have fun with it!!

yes the only rooms that need to flow cohesivly are the living room and dining/kitchen
style them similar and they will feel as one if you have an open floor plan
