You would think they would balance quality with price, but it seems price prevails.

Shopping at ACE, Lowe's, and Home Depot... I've never had a problem with any of their materials or tools.

BUT, then again I pay top dollar to buy stuff that WILL LAST.

I've had the same problem. Last thing was/is my new dryer, (not installed properly to begin with, the guy put about 7 feet of exhaust tube behind it) but now the switch in isn't engaging when the door is closed. I had to put a few layers of tape on the door so it will depress the switch. No biggy, but these little things add up. I've waked out of Lowe's the last 3 times I've tried to shop there due to lack of customer service. Probably dodged 3 bullets...

They carry the same brands as other stores. Why would there products be inferior to some from another place? Try not buying discounted returns and close outs if that is what you are doing.

I don't know, I've bought my Microwave, Fridge, Washer, Dryer, Garbage Disposal, and stove from Lowes, and have been VERY pleased. They all still work at tip top condition, and I prefer the atmosphere at Lowes, it's cleaner, and it seems the people know what they're talking about.

Keep you receipt and take back whatever is broken. As a contractor I haven't had much of a problem, I have had my share of problems . Not with Lowe's but, the manufacturer. Such as "Moen", "GE Silicone", "American Standard" to name a few.

They don't sell Lowe's washers and dryers. They sell brand name appliances. You should take issue with the product manufactor not the retail store.

No I have not noticed any problems such as the one your describing. Perhaps they had to cut cost to pay for Jimmy Johnsons cars, (one burned up this year).
