My mom had this Hoover for about 10 years, then she gave it to me about a year ago. I've come to the conclusion that it is no longer actually accomplishing anything, just making loud noises and pushing the dirt around. I was just wondering if 11 years was a pretty good life span for a vaccuum? Is it worth trying to repair it, or just go for a new one?

I have a small indoor bamboo plant in a vase of small rocks and water.
The problem is that the leaves are yellowing and it don't look healthy.
I usually water it with bottled drinking water.
I was told it needs indirect light so that's what I do.
It hasn't grown for a long time and I was wondering what to do with it.
Should I plant it in some sand or dirt in a flower pot?
It was really pretty and would like to get it back to better health.

It's about 11 years old so I put it out on the patio.
I'd like to wax it with some type of leather dye or other experimental mixture that will give the brick red leather
more of a burgundy color, then oil it to make it a bit more water resistant.
Would a mixture of linseed oil and turpentine do it? I'd like the smell.
And remember, the dye would need to be something that wouldn't rub off, so that's why I'm not so sure about shoe dye.
It's not worth it to pay a professional; I see it as an art project, and would like suggestions...

I would like to re-do my garage floor. / need ideas on how to do this please
-first off, there are many spots of oil stains, and grease.
-next, there are some cracks -not really wide cracks, but it looks like some cracks from perhaps initial settling.

I would like to clean the floor first - not sure what to use for this - what would be best to clean off the oil stains, etc...?

Then, i would like to "Paint or Coat" the floor with something similar to a driveway sealer, so it resists oil stains, etc...so they are easy clean up.

What do you all suggest I can use from your experience to clean and paint/coat this floor. And, what tools would I require in terms of brushes and perhaps what type of roller or cleaning/coatings ?

Thanks again for your help, much appreciated.
Karim

With all the rain in Texas this year, I had a small pumpkin patch come up where I tossed the seeds from last year's jack-o-lantern. There is a very nice pumpkin growing that I would like to use for this Halloween. It is already orange and (I assume) ripening. With four months between now and then I am wondering if I should harvest it or leave it on the stalk. If I do harvest, how do I keep it until October?

My tomatoes are getting black spots on them while they are still green. Then the spot continues to grow, eating away at my tomates before they ripen on the vine. The ones that do turn red get all mushy before they are ready to be picked.

Specifics from my home inspection:

- Ungrounded three-prong outlets in three rooms. (Original two-conductor wire is still used for the three-prong outlet).
- Outlet with reversed polarity
- Need weatherproof cover for exterior outlet.

This is for a one-story bungalow-style house, built in 1935 in North Carolina. I am looking for the total cost to have these items done. I realize there are a great number of dependencies to be considered, and that the range from low to high may be large, but I need to put something on a spreadsheet right now.

I am attempting to get estimates on a long list of repairs and renovations that I will need a house I'm under contract to purchase so that I can have my lender put together a construction loan. I have a contractor coming out next week (so please don't respond "you need to have an electrician take a look..." Of course, I do).

I don't want to ruin it, and I am not exactly sure how to go about it. It's not one of the one's that is sectioned off into squares, so I am afraid that all the feathers are going to end up it a lumpy mess off in one corner or something.
