my old stove was hardwired somehow (i didn't pay attention when disconnecting because i was planning on putting in an outlet for the new stove with a plug)...so ~ can I hardwire the new one with what I have (which is no red wire)?

Your 220V wiring should be black, white, red, green.

The black and red are your two hot legs and the white is the neutral, and of course the green wire is the safety ground.

The black, white, green wire that you have is for 110V.

you are missing a wire. the black and red are hot wires, the white is neutral and the green is ground.
