I was trying to install a new flush mechanism in my bloody toilet and I accidently dropped the pipe wrench on the bowl and the bowl cracked. Is there any way I can repair the toilet without buying a new one ?

We live outside of Atlanta and have these little (almost microscopic) reddish bugs that fly around in a group like gnats, only these things bite or sting. They make your skin itch like you've been walking in tall grass. We knew something was itching us, but didn't see them until they got on (a BUNCH of them) a white t-shirt.

a nuclear bomb!lol My cannas are about 4ft tall and are close together. There are about 30 of them in the same spot, so they're pretty thick. Am I not getting the chemical to all the infected leaves? Please help, I don't know what to do! P.S. The bizarre thing is they are (thank God) only on my cannas!

I've tried and I've tried! I wipe off the counter tops twice a day at least and I have sprayed outside the house. They just keep coming back and now they are worse than ever!

buying a used good working jacuzzi with a small leak. I would be removing it too. Whats a fair price to offer. But first, is it worth the risk and harm to our (family) bodies?

I just purchased a micro-fiber sofa, and the salesman claims it is "stain resistant"? I feel like I should protect it anyway with some kind of scotchguard. Does anyone have any experience with micro-fiber? Will scotchguard be a safe thing to do? Is it necessary?

I was being an idiot and overfilled the oil tank. I've been able to drain out most of the excess to the point that I can get it started, without any smoking, but it will only stay on for 3 mins. or so. When it shuts off I can't get it to start up again. I'm looking for some tips on what else I need to do to get it running smoothly and consistently again. Can you help?

We have very streaky water pressure (really strong one minute and then really low later), so when I water my lawn it's very inconsistent, is there a way that I could install some sort of regulator just on my outside valve...I would rather not mess with my pressure inside if I don't have to.

i am helping a friend replace outlets in her house.
The house was built in the 1950s.

I have done this type of work (do it yourself style). This weekend, i ran into something that i have never seen before.

http://www.acehardware.com/graphics/info/shared/ACE_Projects_AddWiring2.jpg

The diagram above shows a normal installation.

The outlet that i replaced only used the top screw on each side. But it was a continuous loop. So the wire didn't end in this box, it kept going someplace. So, they just stripped a small part of the sheathing away, attached it behind the screw, and the wire keeps going.

Quesion. Is that "normal" or should i cut the wire and attached one half to the top screw and the other half to the bottom screw? It just seems a little unsafe...

Thanks

I have a fairly small room, which has become wall to wall furnature and i am wanting to make a change. One of the things taking up the most space in the room is my desk(which i only use for my computer) and I am curious if any of you know any alternatives that could be used instead of a big computer desk.. Like a chair with a slide over trey to rest your laptop on, or a small cart on wheels that would be adustable to any height for a chair or bed? I'm really wanting to cut down on all the junk in my room and almost go minimalist, while not loosing too much comfort and ease of operating my computer.
Any Help and/or ideas would be greatly appriciated, as well as links to products or product names! thanks!

I have a very small kitchen and I'm trying to save all the space I can. I need a compact (18"W) over the range microwave to fit this only spot available for the microwave, but a small over the range microwave oven doesn't seem to be available. Is it ok to have a regular microwave (no ventilation) over an electrical stove? Is it really dangerous? What are the risks? What could happen? Thanks!
