Hi there,

I've managed to hook up an old on/off switch to a circuit board for an LED flasher, my problem is this though.....the LED's will only flash if I hold the power button down, the second I release it the power is cut, is there any way around this? the PC switch has two wires coming from it, a black and white one (it does the same no matter how you wire it, although i've not tried hooking it up to the positive wire, just the negative...on the board that is)...can anyone help?

My sister asked me if I would drywall a room in her house for her and she wants me to name a price. I told her I would, but I have no idea how much to charge her for the job. All the materials (sheetrock, joint compound, screws, etc) will be provided by her. She just needs to know what I want for doing it. The room is approximately 14'x20'x9'. I have to tear down the old walls and ceiling, hang sheetrock on the walls and ceiling, and replace a light fixture in the ceiling. I have no idea how long a job like this will take and I don't want to ask too little or too much. So any ideas for what I should charge?

I've seen all the images of this flower that come up on Google. Bigger pictures are best for my eyes.

I noticed the other day that the blossoms on my tomato plants were dying and chalked it up to hot evenings lately here in Annapolis, Md. When I checked again today, I noticed tiny orange worm-like creatures (the size of a eight of an eyebrow in thickness and length) on the stem connecting to the blossoms which they're probably eating. One dead blossom had hard, white dots on it. Anyway, I sprayed the plants with Sevin and hope this will solve the problem, but was wondering if anyone else has ever seen or experienced this problem as I can't find it on any website or in any gardening books I own. Thanks in advance for any insight and remedies you might be able to offer! - Mike

Little lizards live in our back yard, probably in the red lava rockery and we try not to discourage them. But this year there seem to be fewer of them. Does anyone know how we can protect them from cats or other predators? If we gave them food what would it be? I'm not going to catch flies for them, you understand, because I've seen them do a pretty good job of that but would they eat meat? I give the bees part of my chicken when we eat out there and they leave us alone. Would the lizards eat something like that? We love watching the wildlife in our back yard. Maybe we are a little nuts but we are sure happy.

We live in the high desert of Calif. where summer temps. are 110 or greater. Humidity is relatively low. Our only source of cooling is an evaporative (swamp) cooler. I've heard that it's best to leave a window open to help cool the house when using and evaporative cooler. Is this true? Will it affect the power bill?

Are people missing the point about the green message? Instead of cutting down our own consumption people seem more concerned about buying themselves green. Buy MORE recycled products. Buy new dual flush toilet cisterns replacing perfectly good ones, when the could put a brick in the cistern? Buying solar panels and wind turbines instead of insulating lofts, filling gaps and putting on a jumper etc. Can we 'buy' ourselves green?

I have 5 New Zealand flax in a row, all receiving pretty much the same amount of sun & water. The two on the ends are doing pretty well. The 3 in the middle--esp. the middle one--aren't doing so well, and have a white powder at the base. I have watered every other morning for 6 minutes on a drip type system. Is it overwater or a disease? I live in Los Angeles, and they get lots of afternoon sun (shade in the AM). I also have three in the backyard which get more sun & less water, and don't look too good, but don't have this powder. I heard flax were easy to care for. What's the deal?
