We had a new roof put on, and went from a gray roof to a brown roof. The house has a section of brown brick on the front, and the rest is cream colored stucco. The trim is a rust brown.
Questions - we have gray canvas awnings. Can we paint them? And what color should they be?
Should we have shutters? What color should the shutters be?
Thanks to all you artistic types for your suggestions!

My neighbords are constantly parked behind my driveway(and they have 4-6 cars in the complex for a three bedroom condominium), my gutters are moldy and need to be replaced and they do absolutely nothing. I've lived here two years and the only thing they've done, ever, is clean my gutters. Is there anything I can do about this or am I just stuck?

I was wondering if there were some really nice people that might like to help me design the front of my home.

When I purchased the home 5 yrs ago there were some nice bushes in front. They slowly died or at least lost all of the needles on them.

I have a big tree in front of my lawn and it dose she the area.

I wanted to plant three bushes with some type of plants that will come back each year.

Please help can email pics if you would be so kind to help

The blower unit in my home is installed such that the heat exchanger coil unit is on the suction side of the blower rather than the pressure side.

In this configuration I've noticed it does not seem to remove much if any moisture from the air, (based on little if any change in interior relative humidity.) Very little water if any at all (and rusty at that) comes out of the drain tube since air is being sucked into the unit through the drain tube rather than being blown out along with the water as is the customary installation I am familiar with.

The way I figure it is most of the condensate is evaporating back into the air stream and is reintroduced into the house. right now 28% RH indoors, no condensate.

I am in AZ, does this type of install have anything to do with the typical low humidity of the region or was the installer (likely the original DIY owner of the home) not thinking straight? Is it ok as is or do I need to have it "fixed" It's now 8 or 9 years old.
Thanks.

I bought a pot of 4 inches mini gerbera daisies from "save on food" this morning. A few hours later, I watered it and put it out on my balcony so that they get some sunlight. However, an hour after, I found that my gerbera daisies are flopping over!!!! I wonder how come they would started wilting so quickly.

I have a problem with my ceiling... its starting to cave in/dip down. Im not really sure whats causing it, and because of the location i cant go up in the attic and see whats up. I painted the ceiling yesterday and it was fine. Then i woke up today and the ceiling was dipping down in about a 4x4 foot area but i have no idea how painting could cause that??
I dont have very good knowledge about the layout of a ceiling but this is what i think...
There are beams going accross the top and 4x8(or12?) drywall boards are nailed the the beams. So in my room, 4 feet from one wall the ceiling goes upward a little, and im assuming thats where the first board ends. And 4 feet over is where the crack in the wall is. The cracks go along about a 2-3 inch strip for about 4 feet long right where the wall is caving in. someone told me to put in screws through this strip and it should connect to a beam and support it. I nailed holes in the strip but couldnt find anything solid. whad should i do??

My husband and I bought a gerbera daisy plant at Wal Mart. We potted it in Miricle Grow last weekend. We live in Alabama. It's outside on our covered porch. It's been there since last Sunday. It seems to be wilting a lot. I'm not sure if were taking care of them like were supossed to. I've been watering it when it looks and feels dry.

There's enough ice to sink a liner and if I wait for it to naturally melt, it will be Christmas. The hair dryer is melting it goodo but it occurred to me that it might not be safe. Isn't there gas in those pipes in the freezer? Could it explode with the heat of the dryer since it is only used to cold? Would someone know about this and tell me, please? I don't know whether to post in the science section or the home and garden!

I don't want to do do too much, it's a council property due to be done up, hopefully including redecorating next year, so I just want a quick fix for now. I just want to make the walls look better unless you look too close if you know what I mean! There are dents and bumps all over, including I think old bits of badly (un)removed wallpaper, all painted over.

This is a question for all you experienced rose-handlers, out there.

It's been so wet in Oklahoma this year, that BOTH of my roses, a baby Footloose, and a three year old Fragrant Cloud, have black-spot. The Footloose I managed to catch early, but...the Fragrant Cloud is about a fourth yellowed leaves, by now, and I'm frantic to save them.

I've put grass around their bases, and I'm spraying them about every....6 to 8 days, with Spectracide Immunox 3-in-one; they're on their second treatment, and I can't tell if its helping.

Does anyone have ANY ADVICE?

((The Fragrant cloud is a Hybrid Tea-Rose, the Footloose is a Ground-cover/Shrub type Rose.))

http://www.spectracide.com/ProductCategories/RoseAndFlowerCare/SpectracideImmunox3in1/
((And...Here's a link to the fungicide/pesticide I'm using.))

Thank-you very much for any help I get in advance. T.T

I just bought this house in Ohio and there's a lot of ground covering growing around the house. See this picture: http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o108/mytreasure2006/garden/pics100.jpg
Is it all right to let it stay so close to the exterior walls? Should I get rid of it or should I just trim it so there'll be some space between the plants and the walls? Thanks.

Well, i hav this really cool idea, where i painted every wall (i have 4 walls) a different color, but contrasting colors. Also, I'm only 13, so i can do this kind of thing. My mom wont let y designs get too.....funky. so i have another idea thats not AS "funky". for one of my walls, the base color will be light purple, and it would have dark purple and white polka dots. Another wall is gonna be light blue with dark blue swirls I dont have any designs for my other 2 walls, and i only have one color (green). Can anyone think of designs that would look cool on green, and another color contrasting w/purple, green, and blue ? PLEASE!?!?!?!?!?
