Well, i hav this really cool idea, where i painted every wall (i have 4 walls) a different color, but contrasting colors. Also, I'm only 13, so i can do this kind of thing. My mom wont let y designs get too.....funky. so i have another idea thats not AS "funky". for one of my walls, the base color will be light purple, and it would have dark purple and white polka dots. Another wall is gonna be light blue with dark blue swirls I dont have any designs for my other 2 walls, and i only have one color (green). Can anyone think of designs that would look cool on green, and another color contrasting w/purple, green, and blue ? PLEASE!?!?!?!?!?

okay i am thinking if you paint overlapping light green round edge squares. and for the other wall maybe just white but see if your mom will let all of your friends sign that wall with sharpie. if she doesn't like that idea maybe you can do the same thing only paint the wall with chalkboard paint and have your friends sign in chalk.Good luck.

Honey I think you are way off. I can tell you are 13 and funky yourself. I think your ideas are ok but way out of control. You need to think about how you would feel about your room when you are 17 or 18 then work on that direction.

If you really want to play with colors ....here is what I would reccomend you do before you decide.

Get 4 pieces of paper or cardboard to color and decorate them like you have in your head. If it does not look good to you on the combinations, then it is not to be done.

I recommend finding some fabrics that you like to add as table cloths, curtains, pillows, etc. Use just a couple of your favorite colors on your walls. Pictures, bedspreads, and decorations add movement to the busy colors of the room giving you hours of pleasure and room to grow as you grow older and more mature.

You can paint your walls a soft color and use bold colors to accent the room. If I was you, I would invest my money and time into better furniture and funky lighting and comfy pieces for my friends.

Think about pink, white, black in your room. Pink walls, black & white furniture, checked or patterned fabrics for window treatment and bedding, rugs, etc. If handled properly, it can be so beautiful, elegant, girly, young and sophisticated all in one. If this does not warrant your taste then I hope you get what you are looking for, but my experience is...you will not feel settled in your room because it will be too busy and not so comfortable. Good luck!

You know they make items to paste on the walls and furniture to look like swirls, stars, etc.

Orange clashes great with the right shade of bright green.
Think colour coordination of a blind clown. But that is what you are aiming for, which done right will be cool.
It is possible to buy, rolls of paper that can be used as whiteboards, and magnetic notice boards, also blackboard paint on panels of a door or furnature, can have uses if you want that sort of thing. Also you could buy a blacklight (UV) lamp they are not that expensive. if you use dayglow paints and certain colours, the UV light has some great effects. Happy decorating

1] you have one, purple with dots
2] next is blue with swirls
3] do light green with squares, ovals, diamonds, leaves, prism shapes, etc.
4] do fourth wall in white, pink, peach, or yellow with dk. purple dots, dk. blue swirls, and green things. [ or another pattern of same color.]
Maybe alternate round design walls and pointy or square design walls.

Since green purple and blue are all cooler colors, it would be best to use a warmer color.. like brown.
