Little lizards live in our back yard, probably in the red lava rockery and we try not to discourage them. But this year there seem to be fewer of them. Does anyone know how we can protect them from cats or other predators? If we gave them food what would it be? I'm not going to catch flies for them, you understand, because I've seen them do a pretty good job of that but would they eat meat? I give the bees part of my chicken when we eat out there and they leave us alone. Would the lizards eat something like that? We love watching the wildlife in our back yard. Maybe we are a little nuts but we are sure happy.

Provide shelter for them. Any little thing where they can crawl into and hide, and protect themselves from their preditors. Provide many of these throughout your yard so they can have a close place to run to just in case. As for food, they usually eat insect, but petstores also have food for different reptiles. You can buy some sort of pallet food for them, or plant a few different types of plants that attract insects, to put some sort of light to attract insects at night. In my experience, lizzards usually eat at night and crawl towards lights since insects hang out there.

just keep the place moist so that there will be insects
and have plants and a patch of water or pond
but make the pond big enough to have fish so that they can eat the mosquito larva
the lizards will be around for all of that
have plenty of sunfacing rocks
they eat a variety of insects ,flies ,mosquitos etc.

Go to Petco, buy some mealworms or small crickets and set them out for the lizards. I think they're anoles...

I enjoy all the little Anoles too. They lay their eggs in leaf litter. If you want more, give them a play to lay. They will feed themselves.
