Use hot water, so it will clean it well & kill the bacteria, but don't use bleach. Despite what you may think or what others may tell you, yes, you can put your shower curtain in the dryer. Using the lowest heat setting (delicate) put the curtain in for about five minutes. Take it out of the dryer, & hang it back up immediately. That little bit of time in the dryer, will allow you to rehang the curtain without being so stiff & getting all wet. Once you have the curtain back up, spray both sides with Lysol. It keeps the mold from building back up on it as quickly.

I've always washed my shower curtains, in hot water with at least 2 towels for the scrubbing action. I do add softener to my washer, as it seems to take the build up from water stains longer to build up. Do not dry, just rehang. I wash mine on a normal wash cycle. They always come out like brand new, and I can't even remember how long I've been washing them it's been so many years!

A power washer works great. If you don"t have one try the local car wash.

giving the time factor and the cost of soap, it would be cheaper to just buy a new one.
