is it only when he wears a certain pair of shoes? is he wearing dirty socks? there's obviously something causing the smell, then making it worse.
of course, like anything, what your body emits, as well as your skin, is caused by what's going on INSIDE his body.
my suggestions, disinfect ALL of his shoes (wash sneakers in the washing machine if you can & spray them inside w/ disinfectant spray), and make sure they're dry before he wears any of them. make sure his clothes & socks are being washed really well. and you may need to spray your carpets w/ disinfectant spray, too, cause if he walks on them w/ smelly feet, he's making your carpets smell.
put some vanilla candles in your house & burn them every day, to help disinfect the air that way, too.
another thing is he may want to detox, and get rid of whatever is in his body that's making him smell.

OK there are several things....First you should not wear the same pair of shoes 2 days in a row you need at least 2 pair to rotate out and the pair that is not being worn needs to be near a sunny window...Second look online for picture of athletes feet and compare them, if he has that treat it and the smell should go away soon....Third If you do not think he has athletes feet you need to let him soak his feet in tea..Now I know you think I have lost my mind but in all honesty it works. Tea has a drying agent in it called Tannin if it is because his feet are sweaty it will help just set up a foot bath of warm water and tea bags....Here is a article I found and copied for you:
Soaking your feet in regular tea (yes, the drinking kind) helps reduce the stinking smell? The tannic acid gets rid of the foul smell. Be caution as it may "stain" your feet.
Wiping your feet, toes and the in-betweens with rubbing alcohol a few times a day keep stinking feet at bay? Dry thoroughly with a hair dryer.
Cotton socks not only absorb perspiration, they also retain sweat. Acrylic and polyester are good alternatives. They nick moisture well. Say goodbye to musky feet.

Most likely he has athletes foot. Is he having any other symptoms? Go to a drug store and by a good (expensive) anti-fungal cream or spray. Tell him to make sure to routinely wash his feet, dry them very well (between toes etc) and use this cream/spray as directed for several weeks. It's important to keep up the treatment even after it gets better for some time since fungus can be hard to get rid off. Alternatively he could go see a doctor.

Go to the pharmacist @ your local drugstore and ask him. He may recommend a good fungus cream or tell you what to use on your husbands feet! That would be the best as I know hubby`s get stubborn when it comes to seeing a doctor!!! If not have your hubby bath his feet in ACV...thats apple cider vinegar and mix water with it or just spray his feet with it with a spray bottle. That should take care of the odor!! Good Luck to you!

I have read that if you stuff newspaper in stinky shoes that it will absorb the odor. As far as his feet go try a peppermint foot scrub.
It sounds like a medical condition that needs attention. Good luck to you .

Go to your health food store and get something to detox his system. Most places like this have foot baths that pull the toxins out through your feet. If he doesn't eat a lot of veggies his body is probably not flushing itself of the toxins.

if it is stinky feet send him in for a pedicure and then put odor eaters in his shoes. leather shoes make your feet sweat and smell as well as sandles with no socks. do not skimp on the odor eaters. splurge and get the good ones.

Sprinkle baking soda in his shoes. That will help absorb nasty odors. Also, tell him to see a doctor. He might have a foot fungus.
