We get piles of these in our laundry trash but they still smell so nice, and I hate thinking that there's probably something handy I could do with them.

Any thoughts or uses?

I am renting a house and the carpet in one bedroom stinks. I have tried everything that I can think of plus I have cleaned it numerous times and it still smells like an animal used it for it's bathroom. My landlord refuses to replace it or let me do it...I need some help on how to get rid of this smell...Summer is coming up and that is when it smells the worst.

I live in Dallas, Tx . Something is eating the bark off my live oak tree. At first i thought it might be woodpeckers but there not just holes, its holes and sometimes strips of bark, and i dont think its deep enough to be woodpeckers.

A friend of mine just gave me a sofa that is in almost new condition. It has a camel back, three cushions, and rolled arms. It is a large plaid print.....the color of the plaid is jewel tones....mainly dark blue, with burgandy, dk green, and taupe.

My carpet is dark brown! And, my walls are cream. Any suggestions? Would a nice area rug pull it together or make it "too busy" with the plaid?

Thanks for any suggestions!

I am preparing a move in two weeks and am spraying outdoor items with Raid since we have a lot of Black Widows in Southern Calif.... I do not want to accidentally take live or soon to be live spiders with me. If I spray all of my outdoor items & furniture, and miss removing an egg sack... will the babies die if only the exterior of the sack is sprayed with RAID?

I am so in love with sweet pea flowers I was going to try them in a large container (18-20 inch)
There are both the short bush types (24 inch tall) and the regular vines.
I dont know if I should plant the short ones, or the tall ones with a small trelis.
Anyone try sweet peas in containers before?
Any suggestions?
Thanks a bunch

So I'm tired of office work, and want to start a fresh new career. It seems like some of the best opportunities I've found so far, is to join an apprenticeship in the construction trade.

The two that I'm considering most are Electrician and Carpenter, but I'm having a tough time deciding which to do.

Some people have recommended electrician over carpenter in the past, because it is less physical. But I'm worried that an electrician could become a boring job. Running wires all day, and hooking up electrical connections seems like it would be repetitive and boring. (I've been a cable guy for 6 months, and I'm already tired of running cable wire, and installing cable jacks.

To me a carpenter sounds more fun. Being able to stand back and say "I built this house", rather than "I put the wires in that house". But I'm worried that there might be alot more grunt work. I'm in great shape, I can do grunt work, I just don't want my main job to revolve around it.

Any advice would help.

We have been told that it is really hard to grow grass under Oak trees. We have literally 10 in a very small area in our front yard. Is this true? It looks like a dirt mound outside, but I just figured it was because there was noone taking care of the yard before we moved in.... any suggestions? What kind of grass to get? Anything?

Last year I noticed my veg. garden spot has gross little worms and before I plant this year I did my research and they are grub worms. I believe they are japanese grub worms. I read about some chemicals you can use to get rid of them, but does anyone know of a more natural cure (other than digging them all up)? I would like to keep my garden as chemical free as possible!
