Don't let anyone talk you out of red, it's absolutely gorgeous in a bedroom. We painted my daughter's room with Ralph Lauren Balmoral Red and it is beautiful. On the wall behind her bed, we painted it gold and crackled the red on top. In the cracks you see the gold. Whenever we have company and they stay in her room, no one wants to leave it. Whenever we have dinner guests, they always want to see her room. I'll post a link to Ralph Lauren paint colors, take a look at the reds. They don't look quite the same in life as they do on the computer, they're not as dark. If you choose a bedspread or duvet cover with lots of color in it, your room will be stunning. Click on the link below. We had to paint it with 3 coats.

I just finished painting our living room red and we love it. We used Behr paint from Home Depot and the name of the color is Autum Maple it's almost like a Brick red , it really gives the room a warm feeling. I would stick to the darker reds. Bright reds are just too bright.
Good Luck and have fun with it.

My questions is what made you choice red? Red is rarely used as a bedroom color.

What I would do is if you have a favorite comforter of sheet set that has a shade of red in that choose that red. Personally if I had to go red I would use either behr's Cherry, Coral expression, or lipstick.

Maybe even a combination of the three.

If you go with RED be prepared to put multiple coats of paint even with a gray primer. I do this for a living and some reds took me 7 coats to achieve the fullness of the color so keep that in mind, as far as color I tell this to ALL my clients "Your the one that See's it 24/7 so pick what you like" Good luck Les the painter

I agree with Tyson,a darker, richer red.Like cranberry or burgundy. However, you might want to keep one wall lighter as an accent wall.Just so the room doesn't close in on you.My living room is a dark, rusty color with oak wood wainscoating and I find it to be cozy if not confining. But it's your room and not for me to tell you what would look good.Decor dictates color.

If you want red. And that is an odd choice. Because red will strain the eyes.
You would want to use a darker, duller red. Along the lines of burgundy or even darker.

I like the color of Brick red with touches of cream in the decorating (Pillows, blankets, candles). It makes it look very elegant, I think.
