A friend of mine just gave me a sofa that is in almost new condition. It has a camel back, three cushions, and rolled arms. It is a large plaid print.....the color of the plaid is jewel tones....mainly dark blue, with burgandy, dk green, and taupe.

My carpet is dark brown! And, my walls are cream. Any suggestions? Would a nice area rug pull it together or make it "too busy" with the plaid?

Thanks for any suggestions!

If you want an area rug try buying a larger one that would cover under the couch, coffee table, anything that you would want to fit into that area, ie. end tables, lamps to define the area. I would choose a light biege one. one that coordinates with the carpet and walls. It will make the room seem less heavy and dark.

If you can't afford a larger area rug of that size one that is slightly larger then your coffee table would work too.

Here is a good site that has lots of cool home decor ideas. Lots of Moroccan and Mediterranean stuff. I always have good luck there.
