I am trying to scare the hell out of my friends with a little trick Based upon Bloody Mary folklore. I am going to Hollow out the wall behind the bathroom mirror so I can place the scariest bloody head that I can find in it. What I need is a transparent mirror that will show what is behind it only by light behind it so I can make bloody mary appear and scare the crap outta people. Where can I buy this kind of mirror and what is it called. Thanks

I haven't had a chance to go to the store yet and get Raid, but I'm hesitant to because I have 2 dogs that will eat almost anything. I want something safe that I have at home to kill those tiny black ants that I have started to come into my laundry room (has linoleum floor-my dog water/food was also there but I moved it to another part of house). What can I use that will work quickly but also be safe for my dogs?

I need free furniture for a new sober living house. Couches, twin beds, tables, dining room tables and chairs, etc.

Last week, someone busted the glass out of 2 of the doors in my apartment building. Because it happened overnight, some people tracked it around the building as they came in from or left for work.

Management replaced the glass that day but made no effort to clear the glass from the carpet around the building until yesterday (a full week later).

The job they did was mediocre at best. There is still a substantial amount of glass on the stairs and on the carpets. I could see over 20 pieces on one stair alone (stair, not staircase). One door has new glass, but the smaller broken shards are still attached to the frame.

Just now as I walked to my kitchen, I something sharp went into my foot. Of course, it was a piece of glass.

This is unsafe and ridiculous. They didn't even tell us what happened.

I'm not sure who to go to. Ideas?

(And trust me, we don't live in a bad neighborhood. But had I known this is how it would be, I would have stayed in the burbs.)

Is there a poison, like roach poison that I can spread outside to prevent them, or kill them? Sometimes at night they end up coming inside my house.

I'm a graduate student with more books than bucks; I would like to have some bookshelves that don't necessarily reflect my financial status, and so I have decided the cheapest way is to use a board/cinder block technique. That said, how can I make some shelves that will work well? Are there more attractive ways to space the shelves than the blocks? A way to treat them, or perhaps paint them, make a cover, etc. Any other good ideas on how to assemble a cheap (<$20-$30) bookshelf that won't look atrocious?

We are moving into a HUGE ne house. The living area is very nice sized. Our style is contemporary. Almost everything we have is black, white and silver. We have black leather couches,a nd alll of our pics and stuff on the wall is black and white. I want to paint the walls like a sage green color, but my husband thinks that will look crappy. Oh yeah- and he hates red, so don't even mention a shade of it. Need color suggestions!!!

I can't do anything to the walls, so that leaves the door.
What would that require? Some rubber/foam things for the cracks? What about a heavier door? Or maybe both? Where do I buy the equipment? How well does every solution insulates the room from sound?

Thanks in advance.
