We are moving into a HUGE ne house. The living area is very nice sized. Our style is contemporary. Almost everything we have is black, white and silver. We have black leather couches,a nd alll of our pics and stuff on the wall is black and white. I want to paint the walls like a sage green color, but my husband thinks that will look crappy. Oh yeah- and he hates red, so don't even mention a shade of it. Need color suggestions!!!

IM A UNION PAINTER AND GOOD WITH COLORS
U WILL NEED TO GO TO SHERWIN WILLIAMS TO SEE THESE COLORS.
SPICED VINEGAR-DARK BEIGE..LOOKS OUTSTANDING WITH PAINTED OR STAINED TRIM. JUST PAINTED A HOUSE THAT COLOR AND THEY HAVE LOTS OF BLACK AND WHITE. TURNED OUT BEAUTIFUL.
SAPHIRE BLUE...BLACK AND WHITE LOOKS AWESOME WITH IT
THEN SEAGUL GREY- VERY NICE CONTRAST...IT WOULD BE A COIN TOSSER BETWEEN THE TREE I SELECTED FOR YOU.
IF YOU MUST GO WITH GREEN..PLEASE LOOK AT CHATROOM..IT'S A CERY EARTHY WARM COLOR...ITS LIGHT AND NOT AN OVER KILL...BUT IM THINKING NOT WITH BLACK AND WHITE.
DAPAINTERDUDE@HOTMAIL IF U HAVE ANYMORE QUESTIONS.

I would go with red red wine that's the color my living room. I too have black couches, picture frames, and stuff. Everyone that comes over to my house loves the color and decor. A sage would be a nice color too. Well good luck! By the way the color red red wine is more of a Burgundy.

What you should do is paint majority of the walls a color like Taupe (I love taupe because its kind of neutral, it has hues of greens and tan).
You should pick a couple of walls in the room and paint them a few shades darker than the color you picked for your walls.
I love that look. My bedroom is large and the walls have an odd shape. I am planning to do just that for my room.

Go to lowe's.com. Use the virtual painter to paint a sample living room with the color you like & show it to him. You can try out hundreds of colors. Sage would look great. I just painted my master bed&bath a little darker, sag harbor from waverly, I have all black & white accents & it looks great. A little formal, without being uptight.

I totally agree with you that would look awesome!!! I thought sage green before I even read that part. Tell him the idea of it might sound crappy but to trust you it would look good-REALLY GOOD

What about a bright blue color. Or maybe a different shade of green.
