When I press the trigger it won't go down, I have no idea where the unlock button or release is. Anyone have an idea? It's about 3 years old.

I have recently dented my bathroom door, the dent is about 3 inches in diameter and the wood seems slightly split. I wanted to know if there is a way of filling the whole and restoring the correct colour (a kind of yellow white). My landlord is coming to inspect the property in a couple of weeks and i'm worried that I wont be able to conceal the damage.

This question might be stupid to most of you, but I'm only 18 and never had any chores growing up... I went to the laundromat to wash my clothes and it was really simple, all you did was throw your clothes in and put in the detergent and pick the temperature... Well, in my house we just got a new washer. It has the settings normal and perm press. I don't know what perm press is, but I have some dress/career pants and the tag says they need to be washed in the delicate cycle. I asked my mom if it would be ok to wash them in perm press cycle and she doesn't know. I don't wanna risk ruining them because I start a new job Sunday and I need them for that. If it matters here is what the fabric is:
70% polyester
25% rayon
5% spandex

I am trying to find a certain type of modern chair /lounger but cannot think of what it is called. The chair is 60's/70's vintage, and is sort of a recliner. It is S shaped from the side and is not easy to get into but comfortable once you are in. They often are shown in zebra print, a kind of Swinging Sixties Bacherlor Pad-type chair.

We are looking at buying a house, but there isnt a door from the inside into the backyard. We want to put one in the kitchen, so we can watch the kiddos in the fenced backyard from the kitchen. There is a big blank wall at the back of the house, and we want to put in a sliding door or French doors.
Around how much would it cost for labour to put in the doors? Like, how much would it cost not including the doors, to get a contractor to put them in for us? Just an idea would be great so we can tack on that cost to our mortgage... thanks!

I have a Polti steam cleaner and I have run out of the anti-allergy / bacteriacide lotion that you can add to the water, which also gives a fresh smell to the cleaning. I can use the machine without this product but it would be good to find a stockist. The Polti website, etc. does not seem to stock it, I can only find spare parts such as brushes, tubes etc.

I'm having problems with the little chandelier in my dining room. The dimmer switch is the type you press to turn it on/off, and turn to dim it bright/dark. The press button still works to turn it on/off, but the dimmer is just set to full brightness. ........ .......... .......... ........... .............. .......... ............ ............. ......... ............ .............. ................

I think it started when a bulb burnt out, so we replaced the bulbs and it's still not working. I went to Home Depot today and asked for bulbs specifically for dimming, and they said the ones I have should work. So what's wrong with it? How do I fix it?

I sold my house through an estate agent (X), but the buyer was introduced to the property from another estate agent (Y), but CHOSE to go with this one because he did not like the way estate agent (Y) treated him.
Now Estate agent (Y) wants their commision for introducing the buyer.
I know by contract this is correct, but do I have a case with the fact that the buyer chose not to use them?

The paint on it was fine. The owner who smoked owned it for about 20 years. It was white. Now is yellow and reeks of cigarettes. I want to just paint over it all, but I'm afraid the nicotine will cause the paint to mess up or something. What is the easiest and best way to repaint it?

We are looking to hire a painter to do our 3 upstairs bedrooms, since we have another baby on the way. We are also at the same building another bedroom in our home for our oldest to move into, and we just don't have the time to paint the current rooms on our own. Were wondering about what the average price should be to hire someone. The rooms are not huge, all average size, with the largest being maybe 11x12, if even that, the smallest is 10x11. We are getting estimates, but they vary so much, the two we have currently are $300.00 difference, the lower bid even included ceilings, which I don't even want done. Any advice is welcome! We live in a suburb of Buffalo, NY if that helps any.

Last night I browned a pound of hamburger and put a bowl into the sink to drain the grease into. The bowl spilled and now my sink is clogged. It is bad weather and I don't want to go out to the store. Is there anything other than Liquid Plumber or Drano that I could use? Maybe something I already have on hand?
