I have a very small walled garden containing only lawn. When it rained the other day I noticed thousands of baby snails climbing the walls and on my verandah. How can I get rid of them without putting down any poisons, as I have small birds feeding there daily. Please help. I also notice slugs appearing on the walls at night, but they are not many (yet).

I don't have the money to fill it in. The mobile home company filled it in when we first bought the place but it's sinking drastically now. and I'm worried about my kids playing around it or neighborhood kids getting hurt. Is there someone who can help me fill it in permanently?

I have a cluster of them on one side of my walk way and would like to spread them out a bit. I live in Southeast Kansas, so we are still not clear of freezing temps. They have started blooming and so I was wanting to know if I should wait to move them or is it OK to move them now? Thanks

What is a good tomato breed that's easy to grow, and I could eat with no problem?

Im also a bit worried about eating something I grew in my garden..not sure how safe it is, or if any paracites are floating around inside.
Does it make a difference in what soil I use?

We put 2-sided tape on our carpet to help keep an area rug in place. A long period of time has passed and I can't get the tape to come off the carpet. Lesson learned!!! I HAVE TO remove it.
Any suggestions???

I have tried catching it in a live trap, and the trap is just too small and I have not found a bigger one. The coon is just too long for the door to close behind him. This is one of the biggest coons I have ever seen! He is getting in thru a hole in the soffits and facia, I cover the hole and he tears right back in. Actually I think it is a she and she may be pregnant, and looking for a place to have her babies. It is warm up there, if I were her, thats where I would go.. However, I do not want them in my house! I heard that soaking meat in some antifreeze helps, but can't find that info on the net. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
Thanks a bunch!

I know absolutely nothing about planting but I am very much willing to learn. I am interested in planting a rose bush. I started to purchase one from the store the other day and this girl looked at the rose stem that I had and said that it looked like it may not be any good. I told her that I didnt know anything about growing flowers so I just put it back on the shelf and paid for my other items and left. Any rose experts out there advice is much needed.

I want to paint the walls a light color purple - lavender maybe, then do the cabinets maybe a shade darker. But I also want to incorporate purple in the floor and countertops. I was thinking granite countertops, but havent seen anything with a hint of purple in them. Any suggestions? And how do you think this would look with stainless steel appliances.

Gardeners, of all the books you may own on this subject, which have you found to be the best and most informative and especially down to earth (no pun intended) for real-world outdoor gardening?
