Gardeners, of all the books you may own on this subject, which have you found to be the best and most informative and especially down to earth (no pun intended) for real-world outdoor gardening?

The American Horticultrual Society's Encyclopaedia of Gardening.

A big, pricey book. Full of detailed information and good pictures and illustrations, on virtually EVERY garden subject. I was lucky in that someone gave me a copy. But beofre that, I would periodically check it out of the library. (I'm a big fan of the public library)

Rodale's is good too.

You might just go check out a whole bunch of big fat gardening books from the library, and puruse them, finding which ones you like, and would be handy to have in your home for quick reference.

In Florida, the best book is Tom McCubbins' Florida Gardening month by month.

I have several of jerry bakers books, but I prefer to go to hgtv.com, so many videos & tips I just can't get in books. And it's free.
