I don't have the money to fill it in. The mobile home company filled it in when we first bought the place but it's sinking drastically now. and I'm worried about my kids playing around it or neighborhood kids getting hurt. Is there someone who can help me fill it in permanently?

It's an old well hole that has dirt walls, so it can't be capped off.

the company that filled the well has since gone out of business and we have no way of contacting them.

You can always post a sign " Backfill Needed" a contractor may be more than happy to lose some dirt in ya hole in your yard.

Contact the same people who did it before. It's expected for dirt to sink in a situation like that, so they may be willing to come out and fill it again...it may take several times to do it until the dirt settles all the way and you get no more sinkage.

call your local contractors-sometimes when they are building new homes, they have to dig out for foundations/basements and they need some place to haul dirt to. they might not do the work to spred it out, but they will deliver to your property.
