I sold my house through an estate agent (X), but the buyer was introduced to the property from another estate agent (Y), but CHOSE to go with this one because he did not like the way estate agent (Y) treated him.
Now Estate agent (Y) wants their commision for introducing the buyer.
I know by contract this is correct, but do I have a case with the fact that the buyer chose not to use them?

If you do not have a contract or agreement through Agent Y then they have no rights to claim money from you
