If you had to choose between the snap together wood laminate boards that costs $1.50 or $2 per foot, or the wood flooring that costs $4.50 or $5 something, which would you choose? We're talking something for both the living room (large room) and the kitchen.

If you go for the laminate, would you choose the kind with the greenboard backing that is supposed to help in case you get the floor wet? $1.59. Salesman says it has a lifetime guarantee. Or choose the $2 kind that the salesman says is so great, and has a 15 year guarantee, but he also says don't get it wet?

I looked at so many products today, I did nothing but confuse myself.

I have a purse I got at Kohl's and a diaper bag I got at Target.

Both were about $40 each. They have been used by someone who smokes and I want to clean them. I have called all the dry cleaners in my area and no one cleans purses. The oustide of the purses are fine - it is the inside smell.

I don't want to put them in my washer - for fear of breaking it. I have read to put baking soda on the inside and then Febreze it. My major concern is the smoke smell for the diaper bag - as I will be giving birth in a few days and I don't want to contaminate my newborn's things.

Should I just take them to the laundromat? I really can't afford to buy another diaper bag - and I like the purse. Any suggestions???

I've had a new thermostat installed but they had to add a transformer for some reason (it's plugged into a wall outlet, and ugly). Is there any way to just use a battery powered thermostat?

This is circulated hot-water heating in the US if that helps.

i have been painting for years and we have our own property potfolio and i always do the decorating! so when i was painting a room the other day i was told that you should paint the corners, edging and cutting after you use a roller on the wall but i always do that first before i roll then once when i have finished the rolling, which is the 'professional'way?

My couch is only 7 months old but because it is in the main living space, it is used quite often. My sofa seat cushions are starting to get a bit "flat" and was wondering if there is a way to get it plump again without having to replace it. Any suggestions?

I have found fabric which I really like in a fuchsia color with white flowers, and the same fabric design in white-on-white for cushions to go with it. I really don't want to make curtains of the same white fabric because it is a little expensive.

I am wishing for something colorful for the living room and am thinking of a forget-me-not blue rug ..... I don't think I can have another strong color, but I can't figure out what sort of fabric to use for the curtains that would be suitable to go with the brocade.
Have you any ideas? Not too expensive .... I keep wishing for some inexpensive cotton ... even a bleached muslin but that is too far down the scale ...... maybe a white polished cotton?????

I have never put such colors together before. I feel very daring.

Peace & Love

I had a pipe leak under my house for a while before I noticed it. After the leak has been fixed I know there's gonna be some water and excess moisture left over. My wife suggested putting a box fan down there and let it circulate the air to help dry it, but I was thinking of setting a regular dehumidifier (not anything too high end) down there. I don't have a fan that would fit or a dehumidifier, so I'd have to buy either. Which is the better option?
