I am a candle lover and I had a huge wax spill on my carpet. I have personally used this method and it works as if there was never any wax at all.

The harden spill that I had was the liquid equivalent to an entire melted tea-lite - about 4 oz of wax in a deep plush carpet that I had to cover because I couldn't get it out. It sat there, covered for nearly 2 years and it still came our using this method.

Warm up your iron to low/med low - no steam
Get a roll of paper towels or napkins. Paper or paper bags have little or no absorbtion so will not work and it will ruin a cloth towel.

When the iron is warmed up, place the paper towel over the hard wax on your carpet and place the iron on the paper towel. Keep the iron in contact with the wax and move it in little circles so to not leave the iron on the same place too long.

After 15-20 sec, your wax will begin to melt and the paper towel will absorb the now welted wax. If it takes longer to melt the wax - do not turn up the heat! It will happen, you must be patient.

Move or replace the paper towel as needed.

Continue this process until all the wax is gone. Is it safe to place the paper towl directly on your carpet under the iron at the end - make sure you keep the iron moving.

This is gaurenteed to work. It does take some time - depending on how much and how deep the wax is. if you stick with it, it will appear that there was never any wax there at all.

I just had to get candle wax off of my carpet. Use a brown paper bag with a heated iron. Use moderate heat and keep moving the bag around to unused areas. Don't use paper towels as they can catch on fire. I took my carpet machine and went over the spot a few times. Candle wax is gone, carpet looks as good as new. Hope this helps!

Dont try to scrape it off of the carpet when it gets hard as it will ruin the carpet.
Instead put boiling water all over the area of the carpet with the wax on, and dab at it with a towel.
The Boiling water melts the wax, and the towel lifts it.

Well I've answered this question twice already, so I might as well make it a hat trick! Scrape off as much wax as you can, take brown paper and warm iron. Keep ironing the paper, (moving it onto a clean spot) until all wax is absorbed!

And for God's sake all you candle burners out there, take care!

first pick as much out of it as you can
then get a brown paper bag and set your iron on a low temperature
place the paper bag over the wax and place the iron on the bag moving it around as if you were ironing something
then get rags and blot all the wax up
it may take a while depending on how much wax was spilt but this should work

Place an old towel (one that your happy throwing away) over the wax then run a very hot iron over the towel, that should get most of it off. Careful not to burn your carpet with the iron though, or you may end up with a bigger problem.

I think my mum told me you put brown paper on the carpet and iron it with a hottish iron. Apparently it needs a few goes to get all the wax out.

Try to remove as much wax as possible with a knife and ice. Then use a hair dryer with blotting paper to remove the rest.
