I have a blue topaz ring and the underside of the stone has a white residue that I can't get to and clean, what can I soak my ring in to get rid of this?

I have used this method for years. Take some white vinegar, warm water and a drop of dish detergent. You can use a cup, glass or plastic container for this. Let your ring soak for how ever long you want it too. By letting it soak for a while, will make it easier to get the residue off. Take an old tooth brush and lightly brush all over your ring. Rinse your ring off well and dry it. This works wonders for me. Hope it helps!

It is probably soap residue.

Put sudsy ammonia in a Little jar and drop your ring in it. Put the lid on it and let it soak. After an hour or so clean it with a gentle toothbrush. Rinse and dry after soaking and brushing.

Ammonia is a very good jewelry cleaner. Save it in your little jar to use on other jewelry. I have done this for years.

There is a jewelry cleaner that you can buy at wal-mart that you put the ring right into the cleaning solution for 30 seconds, then scrub it with this tiny little brush and rinse with warm water. It's the best jewelry cleaner i've ever used. It looks like clear liquid in a reddish clear colored container.
I had dough stuck in my engagement ring from making bread under the diamond, that was pretty bad and it got it off.

easiest thing- take it to the mall and have the Kay Jeweler or Reed's jeweler clean it in their machine while you "shop"- they LOVE doing it because it builds their client confidence; i do mine once a month at the mall for freeeee- nothin' beats the pros!

Try baking soda and a little vinegar,or take it to jeweler and have it ultrasonically cleaned.
