Sand filter and pump was working great. There was a leak around one of the connections to the pump from the filter. After I fixed the leak the top of the sand filter is leaking water like crazy. I have tightened the screws on the lid to seal it tighter but still leaks. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I just took wallpaper off my wall and am in the process of washing it. There are pieces of the drywall that have come off I think. There are these little brown spots here and there. Also the surface is not smooth. So my question is what paint technique should I use to mask this? I want a garden theme and was thinking the texture might look nice. If I wash the wall, then prime it, will that make my surface flat and smooth again? Maybe take a sponge and blot all over? Or paint it first then go back over blotting? Thanks everyone.

I LOVE THIS HOUSE. It has a swimming pool, and everything, but the only bathroom is small, and the walls are covered in BLUE tile!! Not one of my colors, nor a color I like. It looks like they have recently put down linoleum on the floor, so I can replace that. What I'm concerned about is the tile. Should I try to remove it, or paint over it? And if I do paint over it, will it stay? Keep in mind that the tiles are not only on the walls, but the entire bathtub walls are covered in them. I cannot live with this, and want to change it. I've never done any DIY, other than painting, but between this bathroom, and pulling up the carpet to refinish the hardwood, I'm going to have to learn!! Thanks in advance for your help.

The paint on the inside of my microwave oven is chipped. Will that cause the oven to leak radiation? Do I need to replace the microwave oven because the paint inside is chipped?

I have lived in a house with my boyfriend for 2 1/2 years and I haven't done anything to redecorate. I am a college student and I don't have a lot of cash. This place is still decorated like a bachelor pad and I am tired of it, but can't afford much to fix it up. I am most tired of the band posters on s couple of the walls, but have nothing to put in there place and can't afford it. All in all the place needs a little woman. Any creative ideas for sprucing the place up?

We own a pretty old house, half of which is still wired with knob and tube (not that I really know what that means). How dangerous is it? What do I look for in terms of it becoming dangerous. And lastly, what's a guesstimate of what it would cost to rewire...it's an 1100 sq foot house, half already re-wired.

Does anyone know around how much it would be to have an electrician come out and put in an electrical box for a hot tub? We are thinking about getting 1 but don't know how much it will be for the electrician. Thanks

I think it's brass, its a yellowy metal sheet that looks like it hasn't been cleaned for years, in the front entrance. I've got a polish, but I want to know how to clean it first, without scratching it with a scourer (which I already did in a small section ). preferably with everyday cleaning products(not expensive) Thanks.

The house we are looking at is a ranch that has a front patio, underneath the front patio is a basement room. This room has obvious water damage and even some mold that you can see. The above patio has cracks in the concrete that were caulked. The drain in the basement looks to be filled with concrete. The roof of the house makes it so it would be really hard to put a roof over this patio. Can anyone give me any ideas of how to fix this basement room and the approximate cost of it?

I have a few small houseplants, sage, oregano, thyme, etc that I've just started taking care of. The idiot that i am, however, thought it would be a good idea to take an old spritzer bottle of 409 and use that as a water spritzer on the plants.

I don't think I cleaned the bottle out enough.

Now my plants are wilted. I've started giving them clean water that seems to have stopped the wilting but they're not getting healthier either.

Any ideas on how to get them back up on their feet (or roots, as the case may be)? Should I trim the dead leaves (for the oregano I don't see any leaves that aren't in a bad state), put any plant food in there? I mainly want to make sure I've removed whatever poison I put in there.
