i am painting the bedroom and want to contrast the wall where the bed is..shud it be a dark or light color?

I agree with the previous answer -- darker -- but for a different reason. You (and bedmate) will see your walls more than anyone, mostly from the viewpoint of your bed. When you're in bed, you see the wall at your head the least.

Don't make the other walls too much lighter though, as that's not restful. Instead of thinking light/dark, you might consider two colours that work together (e.g., your fave bedspread).
