Hi,
I am installing drywall on my ceiling of my addition. My question has to do with the number of screws for each stud I tie it too. I am putting one down the middle (2ft) one a 1/2 inch from the end on the free side, and one 8 inches from the end on the wall side for a total of 3 per stud. My studs are 16 inches apart. Is this enough, or do I need to go with more screws per stud??

Thanks for your time,

pb4sc

My daughters room is always a mess! She has tons of stuff and a fairly small room. I have given toys away, tried to organize, but at the end of the week it is a mess again. I know she is 7 and rooms are usually messy anyways, but I also am not a very good organizer. Any organizing tips or ideas would greatly be appreciated.

She has tons of barbies and dress up clothes. Maybe adding more shelves?? The barbies are in a big rubbermaid tub right now, but it is a pain to figure out what is in there half the time.

Please Help!

I can only keep the drawer closed if I stick some items of clothing or socks in between the dresser and the drawer when I close it.

We have a long area of old concrete, probably 30 x15 ft. It is uneven, cracked and UGLY. I want to cover it with something - would it work to lay down a thin layer of new concrete, perhaps with stones embedded in it? Is there a way to create an area that looks like sand, but is actually sand embedded in concrete? What are the options here, short of removing the old concrete (which my husband refuses to do)? All answers and ideas welcomed!

A washing machine in the flat above mine leaked badly & damaged some of my possesions. I do not have insurance for the damaged items but surely the people who live above me are liable. Can I claim on their insurance? How do I make a claim? Can I claim for the exessive heating bill I'll recieve because the heating has been on 24 hours a day to dry the property out?

I've been living in my Dad's house while he lives in another city for work, so I've technically been living alone for a few years. But I'm finally getting my own place and I want advice - decorating, safety, how to go about getting the apartment (should I go through someone or look on my own?)

I have some of my grandfather's old WW II army uniforms - minus the jacket. I have some pants, shirts, hats, ties, a scarf, a sweater, and what looks like an undershirt. The scarf, pants and hats look like wool, the ties i'm not sure about, and the rest look like cotton. How should i clean them without destroying them? Will they fall apart if they hit water? How do i remove the musty smell?

I just moved into an apartment where the doorway is at its best 28" wide!! Isn't that ridiculous? Is there a minimum code in NH or anywhere that the landlord doesn't know of?

Anyone else have this small door problem with getting furnature in? Rent-A-Center is supposed to be coming today, I hope I can FIT some furnature in!

Here are some my ideas...
- Barracks Room. It would look like a Navy barracks room. Complete with the cheap furniture.
- The Red Room. Based off the Red Room from Twin Peaks.
- The Nature Room. Forest/Park. Blue skies and clouds. At night, the stars come-out.
What can you recommend?

I have a dishwasher that is backing up and filling with water on the bottom after a wash. I took out the filter and it was pretty gunked up, so I cleaned that. The issue is also coinciding with a sink disposal that is broken, but I have not gotten around to installing the new one yet. Are the two issues related, and/or any ideas on the best way to unclog the dishwasher? Thanks!

I have seen a couple of houses with asphalt roof shingles that have multiple (2 or 3) different colors at random intervals. (A few reds mixed with green and tan) I really like the look of them and am wondering if shingles are sold like this or have they used different batches to achieve that effect?
