I did it in my basement for my art area. Bought stock drawer units - from Lowes - their laundry room section stuff. Nice raised panels, steel hardware. Then bought the counter top and mounted in on top. One thing though- the cabinets were narrower then the counter top so we had to cut the back off a few inches the make the top flush with the base.
Cheap option and looks great.

They sell lots of countertops at Home Depot. You can also buy a slide-out shelf for a keyboard at a home center to put under the counter. My Dad did something similar, but he had a large slab of beautiful wood about as large as a countertop.

YOU DID NOT INCLUDE YOUR DIMENSIONS OR SIZE OF THE WALL YOU WILL USE. I WOULD BUY 2 BASE CABINETS AND SPAN THEM WITH A LONG PIECE OF 'COUNTER TOP'. THE SPACE BETWEEN WILL BE YOUR SEATING AREA, ALL AROUND YOU WILL BE COMPUTER SPACE ETC. AND IF YOU HAVE A CORNER, DO A SIMILAR THING. EXCEPT 3 BASE CABINETS ON THE 3 CORNERS. I REALLY LOVE THE CORNER COMPUTER DESKS, WE HAVE ONE.
