baking powder , use warm water add the baking powder to the water I would say you´ll need quit a bit but don´t over do it with the water pour over the oil stain, leave for 10 min´s . Then with a sponge , sponges soak up the stain keep doing this till your happy the stain has been removed. Then with tepid water and some of your own hair shampoo using a sponge wash the carpet . Remember to work your way inwards of the stain you don´t want to spread it any further. Then remove all suds , when your sure all the suds and the stain has been removed , Lay a towel on top of the wet patch put a heavy object on top of the towel this will help soak up any water from the underside of the carpet leave like this over night . Dry with natural air. As sooner or later the water stain will reach the surface . Let´s hope it all comes out good luck

Dry up as much of it as you can with a dry cloth and the rest take up using brown paper.
Press it onto the carpet and the paper will soak it up. For the last bits run an iron over the paper to warm it and this should help bring out the last remaing bits.

Soak it up with brown paper - will act like blotting paper - to absorb the grease. Once most of it has been absorbed then normal carpet shampoo should remove what's left.
Good luck.
Dread to ask how it got there!
