I have 2 boys (ages 7 & 4) that share a fairly large bedroom. I want to paint it with some cool design that they'll like now and when they get older. Any suggestions would be great.

What is the best way to get the water to stay in the shower and not all over the floor when you have a curtain/liner vs a shower door. I've always had shower doors before and now I find that the water gets all over the floor even when the curtain/liner is drawn shut. I'm tempted to get a door, but since I rent I didnt' want to invest that much money into my bathroom. Any suggestions on types of curtains, liners, rods that may help this matter?

A cigarette was smoked in our large office last week. There are only limited soft furnishings in there, but the room has not recieved much ventilation as the office has been closed for a week.

Will the smell have gone by next Monday (total of nine days since smoke)?

I need to lay a 10 x 10 slab in my backyard to extend a patio and to build an overhang onto. I need detailed (as you can) instructions on how to do this, such as how thick, what type of concrete to use, how to set up a frame, etc., and any other tips you can give to help me do this on my own, since most companies want $550 + to do it for me and that sounds ridiculous. I have a little construction know-how and a willingness to do it on my own, just need to know the specifics to get it done. Email me if you need more details. Most descriptive and helpful gets the 10 points. Thanks!

I have a stove and a dishwasher that had price stickers on them. Some of the sticker is still left on the appliances. How do I get the stickers and the sticky residue off?

I live in a 2-story house with a loft and occasionally a high-pitched constant ringing starts somewhere in the loft area and I can't figure out where it is coming from. It's not the smoke detector, carbon monixide detector, TV, phone or computer. Do you have any ideas on how I can figure out where it's coming from?

It keeps spraying my dog. I need to get rid of them I have already plugged their holes twice but they just dig new ones. I know your not suppose to but do mothballs work? I heard that an ammonia soaked rag works but I have not tried it yet. I need something I can get on my way home. Any help would be great and I don’t think my neighborhood would me like going Rambo on them at 9:00 at night when I get home so the gun is out of the question.

Hello, we have several plugs that have no ground wire. The electrical wire for most of those plus seem to be running through the ceiling (not accessible that I know of). There is a basement and it looks like the plugs that have been grounded are connected to a cold-water pipe.

We would like to tap in a junction box in the basement, and run a new wire (that includes ground) to a non-grounded receptacle by drilling a hole through the floor. Then, run the wire externally on the wall, drill another hole right below the receptacle cover to insert the wire inside and make the connection.

Is the external wire against code? Does it have to be hidden inside a wall?

I helped my dad move to where I live so I could take care of him. Rather than try to sell the mobile home he was living in, we decided just to turn it over to the park. Not a week later the toilet went through the floor for whatever reason. Now the park refuses to accept the trailer. I want to remove it from the park, put it in a junk yard or something, and be done with it, but I was wondering how much it costs. I could call around but I'm worried they will take advantage of me because of the circumstances.

We have a detached garage with a mother-in-law suite in it. It is heated. The gutter have huge icicles hanging from them, but our house does not. There are not any trees above that would shed leaves. Is this an indication of clogged gutters or storm drain?
We will have to wait till spring to clean them anyway.
