I helped my dad move to where I live so I could take care of him. Rather than try to sell the mobile home he was living in, we decided just to turn it over to the park. Not a week later the toilet went through the floor for whatever reason. Now the park refuses to accept the trailer. I want to remove it from the park, put it in a junk yard or something, and be done with it, but I was wondering how much it costs. I could call around but I'm worried they will take advantage of me because of the circumstances.

You can expect a disconnect, and removal to run over $1000 in most states. Finding a landfill that would take the home might be a problem.

There are companies that, if you give them the home, they will come in and remove it. Usually they work on a whole park at a time.

If you cannot find one of these in your area.... try offering it on FreeCycle, or put an ad in the newspaper, with the requirement that they have to move the home.

I know a lot of farm wagons that have been made from old single wide home frames... thats one other possibility.

Good Luck

It depends on where you live In Minnesota for a single wide it runs about 2000 to have it wrecked on site. Unsetting preparing to haul, hauled down the road and delivered to a demolition land fill will cost about the same.

In Minnesota its between $500 and $1000. Seems high but the movers have to get permits to pull it down the highway.
