i have some small rock left over from my fish tank can I use that instaed of sand or gravel in the bottom of my Terrarium?also half the sites I read say that I should put moss over the rocks and then out the soil on, but the other half don't say anything about moss. Can I do it without moss? And if not does anyone have any idea how expensive a little moss is?
Thanks

We have a new rolled flat roof and want to install a deck on it. Wood is too heavy and vinyl't too expensive. We can't use a water soluble product because there are some areas where water pools when it rains. Does anyone make some sort of rubberized material which can be laid over the roofing material or sprayed onto the rolled roofing which is durable enough to make a deck?

I have a pretty large glass bowl that I want to start a terrarium in, but I do not have a lid for it. Will it still work? Also any one who has done a Terrarium I'll love to hear any advice you can give. I'm looking to do a really easy one with only a few plants, just to see how it goes.
Thanks

When I was little I used to remember my mum saying that I shouldn't touch black ladybirds because they are poisonous. I haven't seen one for years, but why aren't they as nice as red ladybirds? They even look mean.

My wash machine had this error code/problem like clockwork at the end of the warranty period, within days. During troubleshooting research online, I found the following from a repair tech leaving information on epinion: "Quite simply, it is a door lock relay on the master control board (MCB). The MCB is located at the top of the machine below the top decklid. The most common fix if under warranty is to replace the MCB provided the tech can locate where the problem originates. Otherwise, the out-of-warranty MCB replacement cost about $200 - $250 to replace. The relay causing this problem is a $1.25 part and can be replaced in about 30min"

Whirlpool was pretty short with me, not wanting to help. Does anyone have any suggestions, found other scrap parts from models that are equivalent, or ANYTHING that may help? If I can get a hold of the component, I am sure someone I know can fix it. Even the schematic would help. Thanks! So much for buying number one ranked by consumer reports

I ripped out a 30 x 60 tub/shower and am replacing with a 34x 60 walk in shower (prefab fiberglass pan). The plumbing is currently a 2" drain that tees into a 1.5" tub drain and 1.5" tub overflow drain. My plan is to cut off the t and replace with a 1.5" elbow connected to the shower drain. Will this work and will there be any venting problems? I.e. is the venting already handled by the existing plumbing (which is below concrete slab I can't see). thanks!!

don't have the money to have one put in professionally. Are there other options out there? I have heard you can put in fireplaces that don't require a chimney but burn real wood and act as a heater more or less... Anybody out there have any experience or suggestions?

I just got a woodstove. my question is should the 6" pipe which comes out of the back of the stove just go into the fireplace or should i put an elbow on it and extend it through the damper? I do have metal covering the fireplace opening with the pipe going through.

Recently we had an electrician and his "team" come out and install a circuit breaker box where we had fuses. 1 week later, I unscrewed a light bulb in the master bedroom and when I inserted a new bulb, the entire MB (lights and outlets) lost power. The bathroom is on the same breaker and the power works fine in there. So....that was Monday. Here it is Friday and after 2 messages left with the guy's kid who swears that she gave him the message, he will not return my calls. I didn't even say what I was calling about!!!! Do I write the guy a letter? Call the BBB? He hasn't even sent me a bill yet (which is good).

Apparently my condo contains the main drain line leading out to the street for the buildings 4 units. Every few weeks things begin slowing up in all the drains and toilets, then condo association send guys out and they snake the basement drain. I did not know this when I bought! Im getting very tired of men and dirt trailed through the house once a month while I'm at work, and sometimes the basement sink or drain back up before they come to snake. What can be done?
