I was going to use the cedar posts w/ no climb wire & on top barb wire, but fence installer says that it wouldn't last as long before rotting. He says to use 4x4 treated posts with no climb wire and 2 cedar boards running across. Which would be better. Don't know if the guy is just trying to get an extra couple thousand dollars more out of me or not.

I bought a pair of jeans that fit perfect! Just the right waist and length... altho if they shrink they will probably be too small :(
If i wash them in cold, and dont dry them in the dryer can i avoid shrinking them?

The installer says I should, but my uncle says that concrete causes the wood to rot faster. Not sure which way to go.

I would like to preserve a rose, or make a sachet or something with the roses my husband got me for Valentine's Day. It was also our 8 year anniversary. Last year was a hard year for us, so I'd like to do something other than just throw them away. Any ideas?

I just bought a used Whirlpool Thin Twin Washer/Dryer after my Kenmore unit went out a couple of months ago. I got it home and plugged it in and the tub filled, spun for about 2 minutes and the entire thing totally died, neither the washer or dryer is getting any power/ I have checked all of the connections and verified that the outlet is working. It is a gas dryer unit. I contacted the previous owners and they said that the only problem that they ever had with the unit was a fuse replacement. I assume that this is a fuse for the entire unit...? Please help, I can't afford to lose this one too! Thanks so much!
P.S. I am pretty decent with electronics so if someone could let me know where this fuse would be located that would also be a HUGE help!

I'm installing a Bruce 3/4" X 3-1/4" solid hardwood plank floor. My floor is engineered trusses 16" o.c. with 3/4" tongue and groove plywood subfloor. Can I install the hardwood parallel with the joists? What problems can I expect?

I was told not to use dryer sheets (like bounce or snuggle) in my new dyer. When I asked why, they just told me that they are bad for dryers.
(???)

I received roses for valentines day. I am wondering if there are any tips to follow for making them last longer than 2 days. Everytime I receive flowers, they never last more than 2-3 days no matter the type of flower. I change the water, I trim the stems, I place them in sunlight, I mix the food in the water, and they still die so soon. what can I do? Thanks.

I caught them before I put them in the dryer, though. They're still wet. They're smooth leather, not suede.

Every time I try to shower I almost slip and fall. It is the only shower/tub I have in my apartment and the landlords are really cheap and I know they aren't going to want to pay the costs to repair or replace the bathtub since I think it will be costly. I just moved into this place and don't want to start off on the wrong foot with my landlords. But I hate the old 50's tub/show in the apartment. When I rented the place the tub looked okay but then I took my first shower there and it is definitely uneven that it almost buckles at the bottom of the tub making it hard to stand there. I'm stuck in a year lease so moving out is out of the question. The apartment is great but the shower/tub is the only setback I am having! What should I do?

When we turn on our propane heater (converted from a gas heater) the outside unit turns on also. In addition, the blowing air is cool. What could be the problem?

We just bought a 90-year old small house with a new-ish looking stone wall flanking the windows in the living room. The stone is light beige with dark grey grout. The window and other trim is medium brown stained wood. The rug is off white with specs of other colors. We have steely-blue chairs and probably mistakenly purchased rustic black painted end and coffee tables. Should I, can I, paint the stone? If I don't, what wall color would tie the stone and the furniture together??
