DAWN DISH WASHING LIQUID does a great job. Wet the collar with water then put the Dawn on it and rub it in. Wash the shirt in COLD water and it should take care of the grime. Another method is to do the same thing only use OXY CLEAN rub in and wash. If it is a white shirt you can use CASCADE. Rub in and wash. Do not use Cascade with color articles. It will fade the color quickly. Good Luck.

There are several ways to go: You can use shampoo, oxiclean, shout or bar soap on your shirt collars and let it set for a couple of hours then wash them as usual and the ring should be gone unless you have washed and dried them in the dryer alot!

put prewash on the collar(I use Shout) let it soak overnight, and just before you wash it put the prewash on again and scrub with your fists.

the best for the collar´s is the old fashioned bar soap wet the collar rub in the soap leave like this for about 10 min´s before you put it in the machine , if your shirt is really dirty leave a bit longer

Depends on what the shirt is made of.

And what kind of grime are you trying to get off.

Can you wash it really hot?? Bleach?? I personally like "green" cleaners.. Borax.
Hydrogen poroxide for bio discharge like blood, urine etc, Vinegar for greasy kind of things..Squeeze a lemon in your laundry for a nice clean smell.....
