If your microwave has lots of dried on food splatters on the inside, put a couple of cups of water inside a heatproof bowl (I use a Pyrex measuring cup) and microwave it on high for about 5-10 minutes. Enough so the water boils for a couple of minutes. The steam will loosen all that dried-on gunk. Makes it super easy to wipe out.
To clean a wooden cutting board, sprinkle with salt and scrub with a cut lemon (cut side down, of course). Squeeze the lemon to moisten the salt and scrub away. Rinse your board with boiling water. This helps remove any odors.

Hairspray will get lip stick off your collar. Spray it on and rub gently with a clean cloth.
You can clean hardwood floors with a mixture of vinegar and water.
The best cleaning tip I got was: A home should be clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be homey.

I am in the cleaning business and here is our secret!
We buy this cleaning cloth off the internet. You have to buy in packages of 5 but they are only like $3 bucks a piece. I have ordered them and use them on everything, especially cleaning windows and clean mirrors. They are made out of tiny fibers. They are guaranteed not to scratch and all you do is rinse the cloth under water, wring it out and wipe ANY surface with no streaks or scratch. Use em over and over. I have not thrown one away yet!
I am sold on this ...I encourage you to try it out….hope this helps…Steve

The best advise I ever got was to always keep old toothbrushes and use them for cleaning. I use one for getting the junk out of grooves in my Rubbermaid lids. I use them for cleaning the excess lint from my dryer. I use them to clean the inside of my coffee maker. Anytime you have a small area to clean with a brush your old toothbrush will come to the rescue.

using white vinegar in various dillutions can clean and freshen, great for glass, countertops, sinks, can remove odors, and 1 tablespoon per quart of drinking water can eliminate fleas on your pets. I found this info in the old farmers almanac several years ago.
