considering the climate of indiana has extremes on both ends, a temperature range of nearly 100 F, blizzards, extreme heat and humidity in the summer, and the fact that the weather can change dramatically within a matter of hours, is it a good idea to make a cob home here?

how big can you make a cob home?

what are the structural limitations?

are the building codes for cob?

Thank you.

Need help quick. We bought a new programmable thermostat for our upstairs. Once we hooked it up it wouldn't work(the furance wouldn't turn on). So my husband put the old one back on and now that isn't working either(old one was a digital) no power seems to be going to it. And it's very cold and icy here tonight and my baby is sound asleep in her room for now until it gets too cold. Help please

I am drilling holes in my basement floor to attach a 2x4 base plate for framing. I have tried several drill bits, and all have dulled to an unsuable point after drilling only a few holes. Are certain bits better than others? Any additional tips? I am currently using a regular drill, and would rather continue that if possible.

They're very loud and keep happening in random spots. We checked outside and there's no fallen ice or anything.

We also noticed a neighbor from down the street checking his roof, we asked him and he was hearing the same things. Could this just be weight from the ice on our roof?

I'm looking for white tiles that can be hand-painted for a custom look. I understand that this can't be done with the commonly available ones from Lowe's or Home Depot because they're already glazed.

Does anyone know where you can get unglazed ones - and what the best way to paint tiles is?

We just pulled of the wall paper in our office and underneath was black mold on the sheetrock/drywall. What do you do? Is there a wall primer that kills the mold that can be applied or do you have to remove the affected areas? Also if there is mold on the exterior of the sheetrock/drywall can there be more inside of the wall?? Thanks for your help!!!

When we turn the dryer on it doesn't do anything, it comes on it just doesn't spin. I have checked the belt on it, it seems that it's okay I have taken the back off and made sure the wires haven't came loose and there's nothing there neither. Any idea at what could be wrong?

In hanging a few curtains in my new home I came across a problem. In some locations the anchor and screw provided with the drapes worked just wonderfully, but in other places the anchor would push into the drywall and not allow the screw to fit snuggly into the anchor and secure the bracket. It doesn't seem to matter if there's a stud or not in the places it worked. I was just wondering if someone knew what was going on and could give me a solution.
Thanks!!
