Hi, having problems with a color scheme....the house i'm moving into is very airy and open feeling with super white walls (which i do like) and a VERY light minty/sage green carpet. I was thinking about kahki colored couches, maybe with mocha accents? Or what about plum? Or yellow?! And if so, how bright of a yellow? The house also has medium colored cabinets and silver hardware (doorknobs) and a focal point of a gray slate firplace. I need help with a color scheme!!!! I'm so confused!

What I am saying is, in the US, if your house's front door looks like a wood door, is it possible there is an inner layer of metal between two layers of wood, so it looks good and very secure as well. In those hollywood movies, whenever a door appears on screen, it looks like a wood door, how can a wood door protect anything. I am simply curious. Also, how about the key? If you lose your key, who is responsible for unlocking the door for you? The fire department, or a privately owned business who repair locks and also can unlock doors and charge you a fee? If so, how the government regulate this type of businesses, given the special nature of their services. Do they provide 24-hour service? How can you convince those guys you are the owner or tenant of the house, so you can authorize them to unlock the house for you?

And, the Statue of Liberty had the torch under her dress!

What tips or advise do you have for travelers and people to make traveling safer on the highways and streets during the deep freeze?

I'm wanting to form 1/2" OD soft copper tubing into a pretty tight coil, with the coil having approximately 3 1/2 " outside diameter. I plan on using a piece of conduit of the appropriate size to wrap the tubing around to attain the coil diameter I want. I also have an appropriately sized coil spring tubing bender to help. Wondering if anyone has done this successfully before and/or have any suggestions to ensure I don't collapse the tubing during the process.

My carbon monoxide detector has not gone off. So i have the doors wide open, can't leave, because there is a blizzard and i'm far from town. does anyone know the symptoms, of carbon monoxide poisoning, or about oil furnaces?

I'm having an extremely difficult time finding a perfect color scheme to go in our kitchen. The cabinets are honey pine, the counter tops are cream, and the kitchen connects to our informal dining room with no break, so I need a color that compliments both. I'd love to find a website that would help me choose colors and give me examples, maybe even let me add pictures of my own areas to be painted.

I like to listen to music while I clean my house. It makes the time go by so much faster and you are getting a chore done with ease. By the time you are finished you have a clean home and you *actually* enjoyed doing so.

There is currently a fiberglass tub in the bathroom and we are thinking about tearing it out and doing a walk in shower that is tiled up the wall? Any idea on how to figure out the estimate? We need to decide rather quickly as we are having trouble replacing the current shower head...thanks.
