I just planted a ton of azaleas and leyland cypress trees and it's supposed to freeze this weekend. The cypress trees are planted 15 feet apart, the azaleas 4 feet apart. What is an economical way to cover them during this cold spell? Do I need to uncover them during the day? I'm a newly wed, so I don't have "old" sheets or towels that I want to use outside. All of the plants have mulch around the bases.

I live in L.A.. I had a water heater replaced as it was leaking. It is located in the garage in a closet. Plumber had two guys deliver a new water heater and take old one out. Otherwise he did the total work.Job started at 9:30 in morning and he was finished by 3:00. Some piping required from the relief valve to discharge to the outside of the house (10 FT of 1/2 or 3/4 inch pipe. It was a good job but I was charged 2200 dollars. Does this sound ball park? I was guessing 1000 dollars max. I know L.A. is expensive but this sounds over the top.

I have a non-grounded wiring in the house and want to add some can lights in the ceiling. Do I just leave the ground wire alone or do I need to ground it somehow? The wires in the switch that I am expanding from a double gang to a triple gang box has black and white wires only. Thanks ahead.

My Fiance and I are having a discussion regarding the thermostat settings. I am happy to set it at 70 and leave it. Wear more or less clothes as I need. Well he keeps turning it up and this morning it was at 76. I was in lightweight PJ's and absolutely roasting. He is a mail carrier and out in the cold all day. He insists that even at bedtime 4 hours later he is still cold and needs to turn it up. He showers when he gets home and I believe after that he should no longer be cold from work. Also consider I am a warm blooded individual and he typically isn't. What do you all have to say here? Ideas for the thermostat?

I got rid of my waterbed bladder a few years ago and just stuck an old coil spring mattress in the waterbed frame. Now that is hurting my back so I'm thinking about just buying the 2 air chambers and the pump and putting them in the same frame.

Will this work? I know I'm missing a bunch of foam pieces and select comforts actual full bed kinda has a different base. But overall what do you think or has anyone else tried it?

This is either a 1.3Kw or 2Kw quartz electric patio heater. They use short wave infra-red as a way of heating you. They are quite expensive so I don't want to buy one if they are no good.

I want to install a ceiling fan in a bedroom. There is no existing light fixture in the room. The switch in the bedroom just powers on an outlet. I want to install the ceiling fan and have the switch control it.

Will this be possible?
