My project is about growing plants without soil and i need some fast plants that are easy to grow (its winter im in massachusetts so probly indoors) and they have to be fairly sturdy because they could be possibly under attack by cats. im thinking of growing them with lamps in my room. i have two lamps and a wide open white counter but not having to use the lamps as much would be nice because a need sleep. O and they have to be available at like a store i can get to like home depot or lowes ( which means not online like wisconisn fast plants)

I wear them once, with boots, and maybe walk towards the boots, from the room to the anteroom, and when I come back I take them off. They have blackish spots on the soles, and however hard I try and wash, and use washing powders and liquids, the greyish tints still stay.
How can I wash them to make them absolutely white, as before?
I do not want to add any whitening liquids, as there is a black logo
on the sides.

We have just bought some beautiful wooden shelves made from wild cherry tree. The first thing we did was to place some speakers on them which scratched the shelves. How can we remove the scratches? The wood is a very dark red colour. The scratches are not very deep, but you can feel them.

I'm looking to remodel a bathroom and rip out an existing tub and put in a shower stall in stead...With the extra space from the shower stall, I would like to move the toilet beside the new shower stall...I have 6 feet total on the wall to work with...Assuming I want a decent amount of space in the shower (36-42 inches square), would that make the area for the toilet along the same wall too small?

I really need to save some money and make some things myself and some nice stuff to pass on, is there anywhere I can get a good sewing machine and make payments, I don't have a credit card and can't afford to pay outright, at least not for one of those nice ones.

This garment rack is going to be 6ft. in length and needs to support at least 275 lbs. and needs to be far enough away from a wall to hang elegant gowns. Would like specific information on masonry bit/screw size to wall, opinion on materials and designs of rack.

How many times do you need to wash before it becomes soft? I bought my son a new comforter for christmas and he says it is too rough!

The slope is only about 5' high, but it's really steep. It goes down to the ditch by the street. It also faces west, so it gets the hot afternoon sun.

I want something that will prevent erosion but not need mowing (it's got grass on it now, but it has to be maintained with a weed-wacker.). Flowers would be a plus.

Someone recommended ice plant, but I read it spreads to 1 foot wide--my concern is that it will shade the ground, preventing anything else from growing, and then the ground will erode. If it has really wide roots, though, it would work--but I don't know.

We are in zone 7. We live between the beach and the mountains, so we don't have any special concerns.

Ok I know this may sound weird - but its kind of a question I need answered!
I have always washed my bras in the washer and dryer for years, but now I hear your supposed to hand wash them.....which makes sense because a few of mine have been chewed by the washer. BUT I don't have time for handwashing - so is there something else I can with the washer......... I don't know - just thought I would throw the question out there!

I tried using clear package tape in one of the bedrooms, but when I remove the plastic from the wall(outside portion of window), it pulls off the paint which doesn't look good. What can I use to hold plastic over my windows, nothing fancy and preferably cheap. Windows will be replaced next year to keep out drafts, but that doesn't help me now.
