I can probably save the smaller ones, but I have 2 large australian tree ferns with pothos vines in large pots. They each easily drink a quart or so of water every 1-2 days. I'd just hate to lose them. Any suggestions?

Its a slow leak but i am wondering, if i left it like that for days would it eventually overflow?

Also, i don't care about getting it repaired, water is free in my apartment building and i am moving out in a few weeks. I'm just worried about it overflowing at this point.

I received a calla lilly plant for mother's day and have kept it indoors until recently. It doesn't look good, in fact, it is starting to turn brown. How do I plant and revive my calla lilies so I can enjoy them every mother's day?

Are you a neat freak, a slob, or a closet chucker? Is it hard to walk through your living room? Is your house always messy until Saturday and you run around and clean it all at once? How does the other half live?

We will dispose of it properly, and will wear protective clothing. I don't want any problems when we sell in a few years. Also, the asbestos is listed on our contract. Can we take it off the contract if we remove the ceiling?

When ever the car is parked out in the sun are are black ants crawling all over the car. I've located the source; they've nested in the water gutters on the A and C-Pillars. I tried to flush them away, but the water wont go down; they've blocked the gutters.

I tried spraying insecticide but it didn't do much. They were coming out at the bottom of the A-pillar and heading down towards the mudflaps and into the bodywork.

I left the car in the sun for hours. They come pouring out and die off, suppose of the heat, I guess...

I've seen an ant or two inside. I don't want them to nest in there... what can I do before it gets worse? How do they manage to nest in a gutter anyways?

We recently rented a cottage where the owner had a 3" granite slab mantle located at the bottom of the fireplace. Upon speaking with the owner after we had left he said the granite had cracked and showed me pictures as verification. Would the heat of the fireplace cause the the granite slab to crack? What else could cause it? Keep in mind that that there were no impact marks to suggest that something heavy had hit it.

Should I bother buying a real vacuum even though I have all wood flooring in my home? I usually use a broom or my Swivel Sweeper. But the broom just seems like it would spread the dirt around and the Swivel Sweeper just doesn't have as much suction as a normal vacuum. I'm torn on what to do? Last night I was set on going to buy a vacuum today..and now I'm wondering if it would be worth it?

What is the best lock to use on your home? I want one that is very strong and pick resistant and basically just the top-of-the-line.

Also, do you recommend using latches or chains, or are these just a waste of time?

I am painting vertical stripes on one wall in my bedroom. I already have a lighter base color on the wall. I am painting the stripes on in a darker shade. I want the stripes to be two different widths, the darker color being the wider stripe. If the 1st and last stripe (the corner stripes) are the darker color, and my wall is 136", what widths can I use for each color?
