We've been waiting almost 2 months to have a rear door handle raised. No-one seems to want to fit a roller-door to our garage either. The town is short on tradesmen.

My wife and I own a dual-controlled electric blanket.

It normally works great however, lately the control that adjusts the temperature on her side after 2 - 3 mins starts flashing and never warms her side up. My side (which branches off her control) works just fine.

While it is flashing - I can't turn that control on or off. I have to unplug the entire blanket and then plug it back in.

Any ideas as to what is wrong?

I had the freezer on number 3 on the dial and all the food would get ice on it within hours of putting it in there. Then I turned it down to 1, same thing. I just turned it all the way up to 7 to see what will happen. I can't figure it out. Is there ice on everything becase it is to warm or to cold?

Thank you!

I would like to start growing an Italian herb garden in my backyard. (Basil, oregeno, parsley, arugula, etc.) How do I decide which area to plant? Is is best to do this by container gardening or plant directly into the ground. I've NEVER done any gardening - just really like to cook with Italian seasonings.

Additionally, I would like to grow tomatoes. Any recomendations on delicious varieties?

Accidentally wore them in the rain. :( I've heard suggestions like leather shoe polish and saddlesoap, but I'm afraid to try anything that might damage them further. And where would I get polish or soap that works well?

I read that high pressure sodium lighting, the kind used to illuminate streets and parking lots, is very effecient, 140 lumens per watt. That represents a substantial cost saving over other types of lighting, such as incandenscent or fluorescent. The only drawback is the monochromatic amber color, but I figure I can get used to that. I mean, how important can it be it to see colors in the home? Will I have a hard time persuading my wife to agree to this?

I like Domestications but they don't have anything I like. I am trying to find a set that is both feminine and masculine, if possible. I just don't want anything covered in flowers unless it is mixed with a nice plaid print. Please help, I am sooo bored with my bedding!

When I clean my room, I always do the same old thing that really helps me. I clear off my bed, make my bed, put EVERYTHING on my newly made bed, including things on my dresser, desk, tv, under my bed, EVERYTHING!! Then I vacuum my floor, and clean off my desk, dresser, tv, ect. Then I organize my dresser, closet, desk drawers, ect. Fanally, I put away everything on my bed. Put the dirty clothes in the laundery, clean clothes in dresser/closet, toys/stuffed animals in toy chest/closet/bin, the garbage in the trash, ect. But Sometimes if I havent cleaned my room in a long time then that can take a while. What are faster routines? (Yes, I'm such a neat freak. What do you expect, I'm a virgo! Thats the sign for a perfectionist)

I have a DeWalt keyless drill model #D21008K that I loaned to a friend of mine.

Apparently, he left it outside and now the keyless chuck won't disengage. I checked the Dewalt site and can't find any useful information for this...

If any of you folks have had this problem, I'd appreciate suggestions.

Save your typing time if you are going to tell me to have my friend buy me a new drill. I'd prefer to save the drill I have If I can.

Smart answers are fun, but USEFUL answers are respected.

I need to find something for my mom for her birthday, and i know she wants a set of pots and pans because she is constantly hinting at it. My problem is that there are so many things to choose from, plus there are all these different types of pots and pans such as stainless steel, cast iron etc. can someone tell me which ones are the best or at least better and why they think so.
